Best is that it is outside the town so you can rest undisturbed in your room. There are guesthouses in town too, but the nightlife includes a lot of Ohangla music and there is a lot of lorries and other heavy traffic throug town (Migori is on the A1 close to the border to Tanzania).||||Everything is quite OK and you can meet locals in a friendly way, the area is gated and if you feel to sit apart from the other parties there are some makutti huts inside the compound where you can be private.||||Food is OK but do not expect too much but you can get chips and meat and salad if you want and the chef can fix kenyan fish also if ordered.||||There are rooms with a balcony upstairs, the look upon the hill is nice and explains the name Hillwiew quite well.||||It is easy to get to the center, just tell the man or lady in the reception and there will be a car waiting for you within minutes. The walking distance to the city center is about 20 minutes and there are banks, lunch bars and internet café not to far away as well as facilities like Mpesa and gas filling station.||||If you come by bus, tell the driver to stop 200 m after National Gas station and go down to the right side coming from Kisii or Kisumu, you will be shown the road, if you drive it is the same road...
Read moreI had a group stay here for 4 nights. The rooms for comfortable, just that they need to upgrade the woodwork. The tv only gets one channel based on what the lobby has it on. The bed was fine and so was the bathroom. One good benefit was that they have generator as power was on and off.
