Mombasa Beach Hotel — Hotel in ziwa La Ng'ombe ward

I was given room 435 and it was horrendous..a very run down, tired room. This is the review of the room (I have attached photos)||• very very weak wi-fi in the room||• TV battery not working, I had to ask for a replacement||• the bathroom tap as well as the aircon were leaking - woke up to a pool of water on the floor||• balcony door not properly closing and had no lock (which felt unsafe)||• stained doors and worn out walls in dire need of paint||• the floor is worn out, rough and badly needs vanish||• main door to the room has to be pushed hard to close and lock. It had a lose door handle and a rusty key||• every metal item in the room is rusted.||• no hot water in shower||• very tired bedding...faded bedcover||After complaining, they gave me a slightly better room. ||||All the rooms in the whole wing and as a matter of fact, the whole hotel need an urgent upgrade. ||||Before you book...INSIST on seeing the room!!!||||The only good thing in the hotel is the view...

We travelled for the new year's and had a horrible stay. The food was bland and lacked creativity. The new year's eve dinner was underwhelming. The selection of foods for the buffet was very limiting and lacked creativity. One would think that the establishment would at the very least try to be at par with the neighbouring hotels but nope. The breakfast selection was very underwhelming. It was very hot during our stay so the least the hotel would do is place the tubs 9f yoghurt in ice but again that was amiss. The rooms need a major overhaul. The view we had was the silver lining. The beds aren't comfortable and the bathrooms had rust (just gives the room a not so clean look albeit cleaning). Our cold tap was not working as well. We used the pool once because it had an awful smell. I would just not recommend the...

Let's start with the good. The hotel is around 40 mins away from the airport. All rooms have a good view of the ocean. Hygiene is ok.

Now to the not so good. Fittings in the rooms are worn out. Rusty tubs, leaky taps, missing TV remote controls . . . you get the picture.

Each room has only 2 power outlets, none of which are close to the bed. To top it off they are already used to power the TV and fridge.

There are safes in the rooms, but they don't work.

There's a limited variety of food. I also couldn't shake off the feeling that some of the food wasn't freshly cooked.
