Had a fantastic evening at Nakai, especially after enjoying eight spectacular glasses of Aussie wine at their excellent restaurant. However, things took a dramatic turn upon stumbling back to our room. After stepping into the bathroom, I found myself suddenly under siege by dozens of mosquitoes. I HATE mosquitoes. The initial wave was swiftly dealt with using the traditional clapping method. Gasping for air, my shouts of victory quickly turned to shock as I gawked at the blood stained walls.
Thinking the bedroom would offer refuge was a mistake—there were even more mosquitoes awaiting my arrival. This required advanced warfare, prompting me to arm myself with an industrial-grade electric fly swatter from the front desk. A lengthy and intense battle ensued, complete with electrified buzzing and popping as the mosquitoes fell. Despite my victory after nearly an hour, the mosquitoes claimed their revenge overnight. I woke up with several itchy reminders of the epic confrontation.
Overall, Nakai delivered great wine, excellent service, and comfortable amenities, but they need to address their mosquito...
Read moreI recently stayed at Nakai Resort in Nakai, Laos, and had an amazing experience. This family-owned and family-run resort is full of charm and offers a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The customer service was outstanding — every family member we met was incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely cared about making our stay perfect.
The food was another highlight, with a great mix of international dishes and delicious local Lao cuisine. Whether you're looking for familiar favorites or want to try something traditional, the menu has plenty of options.
The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with choices ranging from cozy twin bedrooms to spacious bungalows with private balconies — perfect for relaxing and taking in the beautiful surroundings.
If you're planning to do the Thakhek Loop, Nakai Resort is a perfect stop. It’s a great place to rest, recharge, and enjoy some true Lao hospitality....
Read moreI don’t usually post reviews, but they really ruined my day with their attitude!
We booked a dormitory room for 4, but when we arrived, the lady told us it is not available and gave us 2 private bedrooms with private bathrooms instead, which is amazing. Now for the service, it is the WORST! Like RUN AWAY! We paid 22€ as per booking, with breakfast included, and the lady confirmed. The next day in the morning, her husband came to us very rudely and said there is no breakfast for you. Maybe he had a fight with his wife last night? He kept saying it is not my problem, you pay, we cook for you. And his argument was that his wife doesnt speak English so she did not understand last night. It is not about the food, it is the manners!!!
What a shame! The place is very nice, the staff is bad.
There are many other options in the town, my advice is to avoid this place. You will get a cheaper room elsewhere, with a view, breakfast and...
