Hotel Mezaparks — Hotel in Riga

When I first approached this hotel I wasn't sure what to expect as it did look like it was still undergoing work and building. However as soon as I saw the lake I was delighted with the choice to stay here. I stayed for 10 nights last summer and the young man on the desk was pleasant and welcoming. ||||The first night me and my boyfriend had to stay in a twin room as I booked the hotel last minute and they didn't have any double rooms for the first night. The difference between a twin and a double is massive. The double room had a balcony looking out onto the lake and it was very spacious. Small, outdated room with thin curtains that let light in starting in the early morning (at least in summer). View opposite was a masonry building with garage-block, so not very attractive. Old-fashioned lock without key-card that doesn't lock itself when pulled closed from the outside. Small and overly short bed. Funky smells in both bedroom and bathroom when we first entered, and hardly any soap or shower gell provided. Poor WiFi-reception. With a location like this, you'd expect they could have done better. Personnel is friendly, though.

It was far from centre but as i traveled by car that was not a problem. Disappointment was the restaurant. I waited for my food over an half hour and what i got wasnt the best. So i suggest to dine some place else. The rooms were ok, besides that there were no tv in the room and the wifi connection was poor. The rooms what i took for me, my wife and two children had two single beds in both room and one toilet with shower for those two rooms in the middle. And the view from the rooms was to the backyard that wasnt the greatest.
