We are 2 couples in our late forties early fifties. We spent the night of April 14 in the Flavius and Placidia rooms. The hotel is about an hour from Beirut and half an hour from Tripoli. Each room is called by the name and tells the story of a personality from the Roman era. Each room had a Queen Size bed, small table, chair, one bathrobe, closet and a good size safe, I am not sure if additional charges apply for the use of the safe. Both rooms had a nice size balcony with nice view of the valley, mountains and Mediterranean Sea. They provide toiletry in the bathroom and a one liter bottle of water upon arrival which is greatly appreciate.||||Check in was quick, Tony at reception was always ready to help.||||The Flavius is a larger room with a fridge, bathtub in the bathroom, adequate number of coat hangers and better view. The Placidia had only one coat hanger for the bathrobe; we asked for more and were provided with a couple. The beds were very comfortable. The stand-up shower in the Placidia was very narrow and annoying; the shower curtain sticks to you while showering and the very small step-down between the bathroom floor and the shower stall did not prevent the water from running all over the bathroom.||||Cleanliness of the rooms was acceptable, but the toilet seat was not up to my wife’s standard in cleanliness. Make sure you wipe the balcony chairs, table and handrail before you use them. Due to the geographic location of the hotel, dust and sand accumulates on everything.||||The hotel offers an optional breakfast for $10 per person which can be served in your room or on the terrace. The breakfast consisted of Extremely Well done eggs, cheese, labne (pressed yogurt), foul (garbanzo and chickpea bean salad); homemade strawberry jam, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, pita bread and tea or Nescafe.||||The hotel is quiet and nice for a...
Read moreStayed at the hotel for two months and my experience was horrible. The AC in my suite stopped working so I was without AC and every day they’d tell me it would be fixed tomorrow. It was unbearable in the room from how hot it was. I would be covered in sweat as soon as I finished showering. After begging for a month for them to fix it, they downgraded me to a regular bedroom instead of the suite I paid for. I was then forced to move all of my belongings to the new room. The room smelled like mildew and the sink leaked so the bathroom floor was always wet. After 2 days in this room, the AC stopped working again. Do not recommend...
