I rented a chalet for a month and asked the manager upfront about bringing guests. He assured me there was no issue, stating the limit was 30 guests for the entire month but that they were flexible. Everything went smoothly for the first two weeks. The staff was friendly, and I only invited a few guests on the weekends.
However, after making the second (and final) payment, I was suddenly told the next day that I couldn’t bring a cooler to the beach—only in the chalet. It wasn’t a big deal, so I complied. But when I invited six more guests the following day, I was abruptly informed that the guest limit was actually 10 per month. This was a huge issue because the manager had never mentioned this limit, even when I repeatedly asked before renting.
With two weeks left, we decided to just stay with family. The staff became disrespectful, refusing to help with lawn chairs. One Sunday, we were told we could only have one lawn chair, even though we were using three, and they took the two we were using. These strange rules were suddenly enforced after the second payment, and we couldn’t say anything or complain to the manager because he could easily kick us out since there was no contract involved.
