Before booking we have checked online for the price for two nights for 90,721 LBP but actual price for two nights for 120,000.|We went to check the hotel and room before booking and agreed on a specific room, and the manager jean told us that there is a restaurant there that plays music, but apparently it was a night club.|Once we arrived, we got the room card and a paper for the internet.|the internet didnt work for the whole weekend though we asked for another pin,|we asked for one bed, we got one bed with two uncomfortable mattresses that we couldnt sleep till next day, and so does the pillows very sharp like stones-alike,|We ordered several times for slippers from the room service, the reception(from 3 staff actually), the IT..|And we didnt receive any,|We asked from the room service to open a bottle of wine, and he was trying to open it on the floor in front of our door,|And the most outrageous situation is that at 1 am in the morning there was a loud and awful type of music that stayed till 5h30 in the morning and we knew this info when i called the receptionat 2 am and informed him about my complaint plus the mattress and pillow and he said quoting:” i am sorry we are fully booked, this is a night club that stays till 5h30 or 6h00 in the morning and every day and if i have any checkout rooms tomorrow i might change your room”,|Not to mention the loud sound of the ac and the mini bar.|Guys, we didnt sleep all night|The next day, i have informed the reception about my complaint, she was a kind women, and agreed to change my room, this was about time of 10h30 in the morning, and didnt received the next room until 6pm, we had to wait a lot of time for the check in,|When we received the other room, the mattress was king sized but covered with a noisy sheet because the mattress was not clean( we have checked it), also we asked for slippers and did not receive|Also the view from this room was a landfill, so imagine|But the noisy night club vanished in this room except for the noisy rooms next to us were talking and laughing out loud while their rooms were open and chairs in the hallways, we called reception and said they will handle it but they didnt, so at 5h00 in the morning we went out of the room and asked the guests in house politely to the keep it quite, they were bothered from this complain and shut the door, but still they were loud,|And since we have checked in late like 10h30pm, we agreed with the manager Jean for a late checkout but he didnt inform anyone though he was still in the hotel that concludes our weekend with less than 48 hours as known worldwide |While leaving, reception or even manager didnt apology for all our complaints and we paid mini bar and left |Worst experience ever, i dont recommand anyone to live this experience and lets make it clear that this is not a 4 stars hotel not even...
Read moreNot only did we feel at home but we felt like we were part of a family. The hospitality is top notch here. Excellent hotel, location is perfect and they provide many services! At every opportunity the staff and Owner, Gabriel, would offer friendly professional help, everything from taking our bags to our rooms, preparing food, assisting with directions, buying us medicine, directions to the best stores around, complementary tea, water fruits and water. The generosity and kindness was like no other hotel we have ever stayed at. Our room was decorated for our wedding anniversary and was newly renovated. Rooms are cozy with a balcony. A/C worked excellent and 24 hour concierge was reliable. There was free parking in a secure underground parking attached to the hotel. Gabriel and his staff went above and beyond for all of our needs. Gabriel, the charming owner of Grand Gabriel, was typically in the lobby nearly everyday with an organized staff tending to our every need. The food is delicious at his restaurant. They also have rental car services, gym, beauty salon, and foreign exchange services right in the hotel. At the end of our trip, they called us to make sure we arrived home safely in Canada.
The location is very close to many attractions in Lebanon, close to Beirut, Jeita Grotto and very accessible to the high to all other attractions
The week we came the hotel was giving away free tickets to a beach cabana resort called KOA valued around ($30USD) a person for free. We went and it was a blast! They even gave us extra towels for the resort without any hassles.
Only Cons would be Water pressure in the shower could be improved.
Bottom line, this hotel was one of my favorites with one of the best hospitality in all of Lebanon. (yes, all of Lebanon, not just Jounieh). I would highly recommend this place to any of my friends, family or strangers. Even if the price was double I would still come back here.
Thank you to Gabriel, Jean and the rest of the staff for making our trip to Lebanon a memorable and...
Read moreThe manager called Jean is such an aggressive and rude person, you know when someone freaking hate you and each other customer but is obliged to give this fake smile that is full with hatred because it is just a duty to smile; this is how he looks like. Adding that he was very rude during my check in process and started fussing, complaining and hand waving but I couldn’t do anything as I already arranged the booking with the hotel and was so tired to look for an alternative; In addition he tried to increase the price we agreed on and started giving excused such as “we agreed on the price 2 weeks ago and now things changed with very aggressive and fraud way” although we agreed on everything via Email and I mentioned the dates of reservation and he agreed with no issue. The staff need customer service training where they look like they never dealt with people, very street attitude. The hotel is in a very poor condition and needs a lot of renovation; the smell when you enter is so disgusting. The room is very old with smelly sheets and pillows; the toilet is so old and broken in addition the walls are covered with gelatin material, which is so weird and ugly. The hotel is very far from supermarkets, cafes and nightlife; it took us 30 minutes to reach the nearest nightclub. Not recommended at all!!!!...
