The room I stayed was small, somewhat stuffy, in the last floor, with a roof window with quite funny demand to close it when leaving. I found it opened and did not close – too high to reach it. To carry luggage one has to maneuvre quite a number of steps. Though small, the room was clean enough, so was bathroom, though the latter would need some upgrading. Another thing – the shower is neither a shower nor a bathtub. Too small for a bathtub and too high to comfortably climb in. Even though they state that the hotel has its parking, it is so small that it was not possible to find free place, so I had to leave my car some distance away in a public parking. Restaurant is fine, on the expensive side, though food is nothing very special except for their signature cucumber ice cream.|Generally, service is the last thing I pay attention when at a hotel, though it is additional bonus when service is nice. I do not even know how to evaluate service at Grejaus namas, because there were two different ladies at the check in counter. One was attentive, smiley if a bit flustered and not always efficient, another one totally ignoring her surroundings, absolutely engrossed in her phone. Total crack down of the service was noticeable during breakfast. They accept bustour groups and are obviously not prepared to supply breakfast for such number of people at a time. I was almost sorry for the flustered lady when coffee machine broke and, additionally there was not...
Read moreFood was okay, it's the service I was a little bit disappointed with: after choosing a side for my main they first completely forgot about it when serving the whole table their mains, and then when I reminded them of it- they brought me the wrong item. I'm not a confrontational person so i didnt say anything. It was tasty despite it not being what i picked. It also took them forever (over half hour) until the desserts have arrived. Considering there's not many other options but a variety of ice cream to get, we're they milking the cows once we ordered the ice cream? Lol 😆 I mean.... how long does it take to serve the people ice cream? (mind you it was an empty restaurant in the middle of the week. There were 2-3 tables in total, us included). So yeah - food is nice albeit not many options for vegetarians or pescetarians. Desserts- limited options, mainly ice cream/sorbet apart from a lone lava cake or apple strudel. I would have loooooved a baked cheesecake option. There's definitely room for improvement but overall not too shabby and would definitely come again when visiting Kedainiai. P.S. the toilets appeared clean and looked after. Bonus points for Grejaus...
Read moreFirst they gave me a "non-smoking" room which was stinking of cigarettes and basically not heated. I asked for another one; this one wasn't smelling but it is one of the rooms close to the speakers nonsensically playing loud music from 7 am until after midnight. Good luck trying to get some rest there! And don't forget your earplugs.||The restaurant experience was so terrible and frustrating. I had to wait about 45 minutes until a waiter remembered I have ordered a pizza, but only when I asked what happens with my order. Then he brought some sort of UFO made of a sheet of unbaked greasy dough topped with lots of way-too-salty cheese. The cook has no idea what a pizza is or doesn't give a crab* about the customers. Finally after spending more than one hour and not being able to actually eat, they charged me the full price with amazing serenity.||There's no manager one could speak to, the reception desk is empty most of the time and no one picks the phone. So much for their customer service.||I've been in many places in Lithuania but this one is treating their customers with the most...
