Because WiFi is important to us (besides the usual things), I asked the hotel management one month (!) in advance of booking whether the problems mentioned on the net regarding the WiFi, were solved. The manager assured us that they were working on it, and that the problems would be solved in the coming days. After that, I booked a room for 5 days, pre-paid, about Euro 1000. In the first room we got, the WiFi did not work (my laptop is first class) and in the second room there was WiFi for just one evening. We did not accept a third room, because that was totally not like the one we had booked. So, I was sitting in the corridor, next to the elevator, every time I wanted to have WiFi receipt.||I tried to found out what was wrong (too weak transmitters, thick walls, and such). Also, I found a damaged antenna, close to us. All the time the management assured me that I had signal and WiFi, ignoring the problem. They were arguing with me constantly, whereas the hotel engineer fully agreed with my findings. At one time a WiFi-amplifier was plugged in, in the room, but there was nothing to amplify.||Now I write because Denise from Belgium, at the end of July 2019, has experienced the same matters with the WiFi as we have. So, nothing has changed. Also, she writes that there was a problem with the cook(s) for the evening restaurant. That was already the case in the beginning of June (!) 2019. During the day/lunch time, there was no food available at all, although a lunch menu was advertised outside. At check-out time, not a tiny compensation for the problems we encounted, was granted.||Back home, I wrote a constructive mail to the owner of the hotel, explaining what measures should be taken to come to an acceptable WiFi-system. I got a nasty letter back, again ignoring the problem. ||The breakfast was great and the ladies serving it were very kind. The room was nice, as shown on the net and the location of the hotel is good. When you go to this hotel and you want WiFi, be prepared to sit aside the small reception or in the corridor outside your room (for 200 Euro per day); you will see other guests walking around, carrying their open laptop, seeking WiFi receipt. My strong advice is, when you want to go to this hotel: avoid any discussion and confrontation with the management or the owner about any...
Read moreI support previous comments about unfriendly receptionists out of tune with 5-star reception standards, useless restaurant (such a pity for the great location) closed at lunch and only a cheap menu proposed by them for dinner, at exhuberant price to ensure they milk your money at the max. Receptionists and the owner were rude, this is the main reason why we will not return.|The view over the city is nice, but you may as well just go for a visit and stay somewhere else..|More types of rooms and prices starting 180 euro for a room with city view were available on booking.com but I chose to book a room via the hotel and the receptionist suggested sunny side (I was dreaming of a 5-star hotel who suggest the best for their visitors). Lo & behold, sunny only in the afternoon, noisy from the cars parking on this side, no view, you had to turn hard to see a line of trees.. We asked to change to city view but they now asked 350 euro for such a room. |The hotel promotes deluxe double rooms for 3 people but there is only a large bed (double matress) and a sofa on which one cannot sleep, they have to bring an additional bed which cost extra 50 euro per night. Can a room price get more ridiculous?!|As others commented, the evening marks the ugly symphony of all people manually turning their shades down, both shades from balcony (blue and red shades over the terrace, in hotel photos, and window blinds from the room). Poor sound insulation, you can hear neighbours blow their nose.. Coffee cups waiting in the room had coffee traces on the rim.....
Read moreWe just stayed tow nights here on our way home from a week in the black forest in Germany. We arrived in pouring rain, but from the moment we arrived we felt the warmth of this hotel. As I approached with bags, the lady at reception ran to the door to open it for me, and I was greeted with a warm friendly smile, what a great start. We knew the restaurant and pool were not open at this tome of year, but the rest of the sap facilities were available. The room was lovely, and very comfortable, and the bliss of having a bath to soak aching muscles after the long walks. |Every member of staff that we passed were friendly and always a smile.|The breakfast room was just beautiful, and with a wonderful view too. The young waiter who looked after the room was very helpful without being invasive, also very helpful with information about the area, and helpful with translations of things we didn't understand, and even when he wasn't sure, he went out of his way to find answers for us.|It was a trip to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, and it really was the perfect place to stay. We had intended using the spa, but in the end we were too tired from all the walks, but we did have a look, and it was amazing, there really was everything you could want. I would recommend this hotel, and the lovely staff...
