Lakeside Echternach — Restaurant in Echternach

In order to select the perfect place for our wedding meal, we planned an extended lunch, we stopped by this gem. Although we only had a cold drink we were served quickly, politely, in three languages. The view over the lake from the splendid terrace is magnificent, so we selected it for the big day. We reserved a table for 7 in the shade as a hot day was forecast. We were given the choice to select from their menu or we could ask for something to or own liking. On arrival everything was as expected, waiting for us. The service was absolutely perfect, attentive but not in your face, quick, clean, and without fault. The wine menu (without counting) showed close to 100 different wines. When we asked for a recommendation we received one including reasoning, so not just a sales pitch. One particular small dish has some alcohol in it, one of or guests didn't like that and without hesitation was offered an alternative very quickly. The food was perfectly cooked, tasted absolutely fantastic, and its presentation was gorgeous. A five course wedding meal including champagne, wine, coffee, digestive for 6 people for about €500 and perfect service is not too much. We would come here again and recommend it...

O Risotto au potiron , chèvre, graines de courge, roquette era uma opção vegetariana saborosa e original. O risoto estava cremoso e bem temperado, e o queijo de cabra, as sementes de abóbora e a rúcula adicionavam textura e sabor.

O serviço no Lakeside Echternach foi atencioso e eficiente. Os funcionários foram simpáticos e prestativos, e a comida foi servida rapidamente.

The Cordon-bleu de veau, jambon de parme, pommes frites, salade were delicious. The breading was crispy and golden, the cheese was melted and creamy, and the Parma ham added a touch of savory flavor. The fries were crispy and the salad was fresh and crunchy. The Risotto au potiron, chèvre, courge grains, roquette was a tasty and original vegetarian option. The risotto was creamy and well-seasoned, and the goat cheese, pumpkin seeds and arugula added texture and flavor. Service at Lakeside Echternach was attentive and efficient. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was served quickly. Prices at Lakeside Echternach are a little above average, but the quality of the food and service justify the cost. In summary, Lakeside Echternach is an excellent restaurant with a romantic atmosphere, stunning scenery, delicious food and attentive service. It's the perfect place for a special occasion or to simply enjoy a great meal. I recommend making a reservation in advance, especially if you want to eat on the terrace...

J'ai mangé ici deux fois ces derniers mois - la première fois je faisais parti d'un large groupe (association local), et la deuxième fois nous étions huit personnes. La première fois, au mois de juillet 2024, le restaurant était bien rempli et on était sur la terasse. On n'était pas pressé et tant mieux puisque malgré le fait qu'on avait commandé tous le même plat et en avance (jambon salade et frites), nous avons dû attendre plus d'une heure pour être servis, quoique la serveuse était gentille. La seconde fois, repas familial et experience mauvais. Les boissons ont mis un long moment pour venir et ont été servis par une serveuse à qui on n'aurait pas expliqué la commande et qui ne savais pas reconnaître les boissons qu'elle portait. Pendant tout le repas (mi septembre par temps soudainement froid), le personnel était en train de sortir et rentrer par la porte de la terrasse, qu'ils bloquait à chaque fois pour leur faciliter les aller retours mais qui faisait circuler des courants d'air froid dans la salle. Après avoir demandé pendant le repas la carte des boissons, aucun serveur n'est repassé pour prendre une commande! Et finalement pour avoir l'addition, très difficile d'attirer l'attention de quelqu'un, notre serveuse soudain occupée er le serveur plutôt occupé par son téléphone portable, puis galère pour diviser l'addition en deux, payer une partie avec des bons et de faire le calcul basique pour faciliter celui-ci. Repas ok sans plus, et portions modestes surtout aux prix demandés. Vue sur le lac joli, le reste est à fuir.

I have been twice in the last three months; the first as part of a large group (local club) and the second in a group of eight. One the first occasion, the restaurant was nearly full and we sat on the terrace. We were not in a hurry, thankfully, since despite all having pre-ordered the same meal (ham salad and chips), it took over an hour to be served, though the waitress was very pleasant. This week, the experience was rather disappointing - drinks order was slow and brought by a waitress who couldn't identify all the drinks on her tray - bad communication between bar and staff. Throughout our time in the restaurant, the staff were going in and out onto the terrace, leaving the door jammed open for their convenience, resulting in a very cold draught (mid September and in a sudden cold snap). Partway through our meal we asked for the wine list, which was provided but then nobody actually came back to take an order! Finally when it came time to pay, once we had finally caught the eye of somebody, our waitress being suddenly busy and the waiter seemingly absorbed by his mobile phone, it seemed to be confusing to divide the bill in two, and a lack of maths skills seeming to throw the waitress into confusion when we paid part with vouchers. Food passable, nothing more, and modest portion sizes considering the prices. Nice view but underwhelming on every...
