Camping du Nord — Hotel in Goesdorf

The campsite is really beautiful, with many accommodation options, by the water in nice nature. Unfortunately the whole impression was spoiled by the staff, who compared to other campsites we have been to in Luxembourg were absolutely unproactive, everything was actually a problem and the icing on the cake was the REPEATED recommendation to use the hot water tap for drinking and eating... Upon my pointing out that hot tap water is NOT DRINKABLE and HAZARDOUS to health (resulting in death), the lady at the front desk shrugged her shoulders and then repeated the recommendation to me... Moreover, the ladies at the reception didn't work very well in terms of organization either - one or two were always on the phone, even when there was a queue of customers waiting, or two of them were devoted to one customer at the same time (I would say it doesn't take two people and four hands to bring a pizza from the kitchen). If you want to use any services at the campsite, definitely beware of the opening hours - they are max 5 hours a day with a 5 hour lunch break :D Next...

This is a hidden gem, peaceful yet welcoming to children. Incredibly pretty and relaxing. A large park area for the children and access to the river for paddling or fishing right outside your tent. A good mixture of static rented holiday chalets, caravans and tents. Firepits permitted as well as dogs, all the ones we met were very friendly.

Booking was tricky as their online booking won't accept a British ID number but email them... The site is worth the effort to book.

The washing facilities are evenly spaced along the site so you are never too far from a toilet just remember to bring your own loo roll. The showers were hot and allowed for a reasonable time (5min), hot water is provided for washing dishes.

Despite having very few British visitors their staff either had good English skills or at very least were patient with our attempts at french.

We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this well run family...

Schitterend gelegen deze kleinschalige nette camping, gelegen aan het riviertje de Sure. Mooie, grote en vlakke plekken om met tent of caravan te camperen. Plekken ook voor campers. Ook veel mogelijkheden d.m.v. verhuur van chalets. 's Morgens wakker worden met het geluid van zingende vogels en kabbelend water. Schoon en modern sanitair. De camping is een aantal jaren geleden overgenomen en er wordt op vele manieren geinvesteerd in aanpassingen. Dat kan je zien aan de moderne uitstraling en de mooi aangelegde en nette veldjes en tuintjes. De paden zijn wel slecht verlicht 's avonds vind ik, maar misschien komt dat nog. De camping ligt pal op het zuiden. Één nadeel, sta je eersterangs (bij het water), dan zijn er bijna geen staanplaatsen met beschutting. Je staat dan pal in de zon. Maar dat kan ook een voordeel zijn, b.v. in het voorjaar. Er zijn enkele plaatsen aan het water met beschutting. Mooie wandelomgeving. Treinstation vlakbij op ca. 10 minuten afstand lopen. Elektrische aansluitingen van 6 Ampère overal, behalve bij het trekkersgedeelte. In de toekomst kan je kiezen hoe groot de aansluitwaarde moet zijn, dus b.v. 2, 4, 6, 10 Ampère. Elektrisch laden van je auto kan nu nog niet, maar ik zie wel dat een voorziening hiervoor voorbereid wordt (mei 2023), dus komt er snel aan. Aan de kabeldikte te zien 2 x max. 11 of 22 kWatt. En nu maar hopen dat er laadetiquette komen gaat en niet iedereen zijn auto hier de hele dag geparkeerd laat staan! Eventueel kan je op 10 km afstand met 300 kWatt snelladen. Dit is bij Gulf tankstation, Fussekaul 3, Heiderscheid met twee CCS laders. Achter de brasserie. Op de camping is ook een kleine winkel voor de eerste boodschappen. Er is geen restaurant, maar daar krijg je ook een stuk rust voor terug. Je kan er drinken bestellen aan de bar. Er is ook een leuke Thaise fastfoodcorner, waar je eten lokaal wordt gemaakt en waar je het af kan halen. Aanrader! Je kan er ook b.v. een pizza bestellen. Let op bij aankomst en vertrek, de receptie is beperkt open. Van te voren even bellen is daarom beter, om teleurstelling te voorkomen. Aan komen waaien 's avonds laat kan je daarom beter niet doen.
