Hotel Wemperhardt — Hotel in Weiswampach

It was our second stay in this hotel. For our purpose (to visit the shopping center of Massen and Schmiede) the location is perfect. The staff at the reception addressed us in Dutch which was a nice surprise as Dutch is our mother tongue. Staff at hotel (reception, housekeeper, breakfast) was very friendly and helpful.|Although it was not mentioned at check-in, we were given a comfort room instead of the standard room we booked, of course this was a pleasant surprise.|The comfort room is a lot larger and specious and very nice. Beds are great and of very good quality. One of our friends who travelled with us, suffers from an allergy and he did not sleep so well because of the carpet in the room. But for us it was perfect.|There is a free bottle of water in the room and a machine with drinks you can purchase (soft drinks) in the hall and also a microwave and plates you can use are at disposal in the hall.|The coffee was with powder and a water boiler, we prefer a small coffee machine with pads or so in the room as that quality of coffee is better.|We had a terrace but due to the bad weather we could not enjoy it.|Bathroom was spacious with a very good shower. One point of remark: the product in the shower was same for hands, hair and body. We never use the same product to wash our hair or our body so we don't like this (but I brought my own products from home).|Breakfast is excellent with a large choice of all products (including smoked salmon). The breakfast room is not very big and can get very noisy and busy at rush moments. Also at the coffee machine there might be some delay. Only remark here: the floor of the breakfast room was "sticky" so maybe it needs some extra cleaning.|As for parking space, there is a big shopping center next to the hotel so parking can be very full and sometimes you need to search for a spare parking space and walk a little further with your luggage (not comfortable with the weather we had). Hotel Wemperhardt is a brand new hotel, build to the large shopping centre Massen, ideal when f.e. returning from a holiday to do some shopping (food, drinks, clothing etc)||There was a very warm welcoming and the reception lady immediately asked us at what time we wanted to have breakfast. Not for the usual reason, but she indicated that a group of 40 Chinese guests was staying in the hotel and would have breakfast at a certain time. And that if we were able to come sooner or later and we would have breakfast in a more quiet atmosphere. Very thoughtful.||She told us that the complex has 4 different restaurants; a steak house, a brasserie with local specialties, an Italian and a deluxe restaurant. The last 2 mentioned were closed that Tuesday.||The superior suite we booked was very nice (and brand new) with a very large bath room and a sauna of your own. Since it was over 36 degrees we decided not to use the sauna||The suite had a very large balcony over the length of the suite and was located at the back side of the shopping centre, which makes your view just roofs and the Ardennes in the distance.||The advantage is that the back side is far more quiet than the front side, where the main road is.||There is no mini bar in the suite, but vending machines in the corridor. Understandable, since in this hotel you can check-in or check-out 24/7. The hotel has also very cheap rooms.||We bought a bottle of wine in the Brasserie down stairs, but returning to our room we found out there were no wine glasses in the suite!! So we went back to the Brasserie were they were so kind to give us some wine glasses.||Breakfast was very good with many choices, despite the Chinese group left 10 minutes before; even some hot...

We were a bit hesitant about this hotel. The reviews were mixed and the place of the hotel is also strange: in a shopping centre. |However, we really enjoyed the stay, the hotel is clean, crisp and the rooms are quiet. There was airco and because it was very hot, we got a additional card for keeping the airco running when we were not present in the room. Excellent service. |Breakfast was good, nice coffee, lots of choice: eggs, salmon, yoghurt, good bread...... It is a buffet, in times of corona not what we would choose for, however we took our own precautions.|The surroundings are great for long walks through nature. We spend all our free time outdoors and met almost nobody. |There is a beergarden with a covered terrace for a drink when you return. |For dinner, there is lot of choice in and around the shopping centre. We enjoyed the italian restaurant a lot, it had an outdoor seating area on the balcony and the staff was very friendly and the food good. The second night we ate in the steak restaurant which was very tasty as well. There is a lot of free parking space, you can buy a picknick lunch in the supermarket in the shopping center and from the doorstep of the hotel you can go for a walk a well. We will definitely...
