Nice, cosy room (had the room with double and one single bed) for MGA 60000 on the 1st floor. Done the reservation by whatsapp and it worked well! The mattress is saggy (usual in Madagascar). One power oulet only. Shared, very clean toilet, separate shower room. You have to share it with the family and the other guests (totally two guest rooms). Hot water works well, if there is water (common problem in Mada). The shower/toilet is in on the ground floor. Food is delicious and not overprized (you pay what you order). I paid less than the other guest as no meat/fish and no dessert. Patrick cooked tofu (I brought it from home) for his first time ever and it was perfectly prepared! The place is in the small old town on the hill, about a 30 min walk from Cotisse station and the supermarket. There is only one restaurant in the old town. So, you either walk or taking a taxi for about MGA 10000 to the center. It's a very quiet place. No WIFI available. ATMs about 10-15 min walking distance. No direct access by car/taxi to the B&B as its pedestrian zone (about 3-5 min. walking distance). Locals are willing and happy to carrying your luggage for MGA 2000-4000. The...
Read moreI booked this place on Booking.com, there were only a few place in Fianarantsoa where I could reserve online. The photographs were not that good and price was pretty cheap. So I didn't expect much. Just for one night, I can handle it. I thought. Boy was I surprised. I arrived on a night with pouring rain, and Julienne welcomed me with such hospitality and attentiveness, both of which are hard to come by at this price range in Madagascar. Traditional rooms were spacey and comfortable enough, and only blemish was toilet and shower is shared. But even that, they clean it often and keeps it in good condition. Also, if you're here you have to eat dinner here as well. Juelienne is a great cook, one of best Madagascar food I had in my 3 weeks time on the island was here. So good that I stopped by here again for one more night after my first visit. If you're spending a night here I'd definitely recommend it. It's little bit hard to find but someone on the streets will guide you. For the price, this is not only a bargain, but a place to sample little bit of local...
Read moreI stayed for three nights at this family owned guesthouse and I would not miss the chance to come back. I truely can recommend it to everyone, who likes to experience the great hospitality of the malagasy people. The family is very kind and they helped me a great deal to arrange my trip to Ranomafana NP. For those who are like me not very fluent in French, Julienne speaks also English.|My secret tip: Eat there! I guarantee you will be positively surprised about the delicious food served there. The chef is truely a master of his profession.||The rooms are spacious, clean and equipped with electricity. The beds are comfy and mosquito nets are provided. The (warm) water supply is not always given, but the family wont hesitate to boil up some water for a bucket shower. There is no www at the guesthouse.||On the downside, the accomodation is a bit far away from the city center (Lower Town), which means you need totake a taxi (5000Ar) or a bus (200Ar) in front of the cathedral, unless you don't...
