Stayed 3 nights in family bungalows, which were great value, and superbly located.|Gardens are really pretty and from outside the front of our bungalows there's a great view along the main street and the forested hills behind.|Yes there's a steepish path to get up to them, but the payoff is the great view.|An easy short walk into town, but you're away from any noise, so location is perfect I think.|We were lucky with the weather in Ranomafana - apparently it rains a lot!|Hosts are helpful, restaurant service was good. Our roadtrip pile of laundry came back clean and dry, very reasonably priced. |(They have a VISA machine for card payment which was working at the time of our visit - this is a rarity in Madagascar!)|The restaurant verandah is a lovely place to hang out.|As well as the National Park day and night walks (Diamondra is a great guide), also recommend a trip to the thermal baths, arboretum, a kayak trip down the river and a meal...

Read moreLocated little bit outside of center of Ranomafane this place offers stay to sleep and restaurant. I didn't sleep here, but we went for a dinner. I suggest you to pick goulash versions of dish, they both were very good. Grilled steak unfortunatelly came colder then warm, it was just to thin to be called steak and to chewy. Same goes for chicken, which is obviously local chicken as it was also chewy and very skinny. If I ws the Chef I would put chicken along with various vegetables under the pot, cover with lid and put coal over it and "cooked" slowly for at least 40 minutes, so juices mix up. Then you would get chicken from which bone meat would literally slip off. This is my suggestoon only. Pommes frites were very good, and flammable banana too, and wuth 4 large beers price for 4 people was less then 110.00 Ari (25euros)...
