for this trip my family & i decided to be on the island during the OFF-peak period. so we arrived on monday. we had the whole island to ourselves! 😉 peaceful, serene, beautiful - sun was up cheerfully throughout our stay. on this Pulau (Babi) Besar, apart frm Mirage Island Resort, there were 3 other resorts. what Mirage have which the other resorts do not was this man addressed as "Man Coral". he and his posies ran Mirage (but i can confidently assumed that Man Coral is not only the OTAI but also TAIKO of Pulau Besar too). friendly, knowledgeable, handy, courteous were among his traits. he keeps Mirage spit and span. to us we would rate Mirage 2* by virtue of amenities alone but due to Man Coral and his posies we proudly accord Mirage our full compliments. our villa was spacious enough to accommodate 4. basic amenities. no tv. no mini bar. no phone (room-to-room nor room-to-front desk). no wifi. functioning air condition. no fuss. basic toilet facilities - cold/hot shower, basin, WC. oh! limited beach space for Mirage because an embankment being built by the local authority to prevent further erosion from the waves. despite these basic things we were rested comfortably & adequately. after all, we spent most of our days (& nights) outside of our villa. because of the off-peak days most parts of the front office were under maintenance so our movements were limited to the dining area. (oh! do book your room/villa PLUS full boards. if you want to find your own meals be prepared to have burgers day-in day-out WHEN and IF he (the burger guy) felt like opening his stall. no other "restaurant" about. you may want to rent a bicycle to traverse the entire west-side of the island. RM10 per hour or RM35 for the entire day. otherwise accumulate a lot of steps on the island. like i said earlier, we had the entire island to ourselves. was a fantastic respite from dreary city life. we would come back again. as long as Man Coral is around then Mirage will be our choice for resort on Pulau Besar. if he is no longer there then i would...

He explained well on the activities on the island and resort facilities. ||||I would say this resort is one of the basic resort I've been too, however they provide hot water and 24-hours electricity. Room is equipped with air conditioning and its cooooold.||||They provide 2 big mineral water as well as soap and toilet tissue in room.||||The next day we opt for snorkeling to 3 islands, Abang Man walked us to the snorkeling centre - Bambu Besa. The 3 islands cost us RM 80/per pax (approximately 3 hours time allocated). We are happy with the friendly boat man and he always remind us on being careful and not to stray too far from the boat.||||Upon returning from snorkeling, our lunch is ready at the resort. Read moreStay here for 2 night, to come here, we come with normal boat since its only half an hour from the jetty, the welcoming is nice, they greet us with cold beverages before we can proceed to our room, but we waited quite long since maybe they short-staff becos previous covid19, they do brefing about the rules & regulations. The room is okey, only the lighting need to be change, cos it makes our eyes stress with no enough lighting, even in daylight, unless you open all the windows lah, but then you cannot becos the aircond will come out. the hospitality is nice, all the workers is friendly n helpful, the food is enough for you, it served by table within how many pax in your roomlist, theres free flow of instant coffe and tea, but for me, everyday served with ikan siakap, only that bothers us, if u not a fancy of chicken and siakap, u should be prepared, everyday with same breakfast , lunch dinner ( chicken, siakap, vege) different style cook but same ingredients, went snorkelling but nothing much to see, the sea is very clean and beautifull! there not much shop here so better buy all your side jajan from jetty before u come, overall it was a nice stay, but i think we cant stay longer then 3 days, i hope in future there will be more upcoming changes for better services, its a nice place to relax your mind without any xtivities, thank you for serving us your bestest, to more great changes in...
