I recently had a one-night stay at Jinhold Hotel and Apartment in Miri during a transit stop, and here is my review:Strengths:-Affordable and Budget-Friendly: At just SGD 60 per night, this hotel offers excellent value for travelers seeking convenience without breaking the bank.-Prime Location with Exceptional Accessibility: The hotel is ideally located directly across from Miri Airport, making it a perfect choice for transit travelers or those with early flights. The complimentary hourly shuttle van service was especially helpful. For our 8 AM flight, we needed to be at the airport by 6 AM for check-in and baggage drop, and the shuttle service provided seamless transportation without the hassle of arranging additional transport.-Secure Parking Facilities: An added benefit was the option to rent a parking space in the hotel’s basement. We opted to leave our car there at a reasonable rate of RM53 per night. The facility was secure, giving us peace of mind while we were away.-Spacious and Functional Accommodations: The room was spacious, clean, and equipped with the essential amenities one would expect from a transit hotel. While the facilities were simple, they were practical and met our basic needs comfortably.Areas for Improvement:-Elevator Reliability: One of the elevators presented some issues during our stay. It lacked air-conditioning, and its performance was somewhat erratic. Upon our return to pick up our car, we noted that the same elevator was out of service entirely, which was inconvenient for guests needing access to the basement parking.-Bed Design Flaws: The bed’s structure could use significant improvement. It consisted of two mattresses placed on a wooden platform, but the edges of the mattresses tended to tilt outward. This created an unstable sleeping experience and gave the impression that one might roll off the bed if not positioned carefully. Conclusion:Overall, Jinhold Hotel and Apartment is a highly convenient and budget-conscious option for transit travelers. Its proximity to Miri Airport, coupled with the free shuttle service and secure parking facilities, makes it an appealing choice. Despite minor issues with the elevator and bed design, the practicality and affordability outweigh these drawbacks. I would consider staying here again for the convenience...
Read moreI would not say that this hotel is THE BEST hotel, truthfully no hotel IS the best hotel. JINHOLD staffs are really amazing, they are friendly and are also helpful. I love the pool there, I like how the adult pool has a part uncovered and also a covered part which is really nice for people that don't want to get sunburned. There are also seats, hammocks, round swings, vending machines, a gym, toilets and saunas provided for the customers which are very convinient. I also like that there is a little library, there aren't a lot of books but the books there are very nice and that came from me and my mother who are bookworms. Other than that, you can rent a car to go sightseeing, you can go from EMART RIAM to the BORNEO TROPICAL RAINFOREST. You can also call for a car to pick you up from the airport and it would be cheap considering JINHOLD is just in front of the airport. The food is amazing but it is quite expensive, sure its mostly because it's served at an amazing hotel but one plate of fried rice could cost over RM 13-14 and I personally think RM 9 would be better ( Please note that this is my view for only ONE dish and I would not know other dish prices so please don't take my view of their food to seriously, there are also other good restaurants near JINHOLD if you don't prefer eating at the hotel.) What I love THE MOST about JINHOLD is that they care for our earth. There are signs in the toilet that says 'Save our planet! Everyday, tons of detergent and millions of gallons of water are used to wash towels that have been only used once. You make the choice. A hanged towel means "I'll use it again," a towel on the floor means "Please exchange," thank you & have a pleasent stay. We are the future. '. They also use steel straws that are reuseable instead of plastic straws. These are the only things that I spotted for my 2 days stay but even a little action such as these will help. Overall, JINHOLD is an amazing hotel and I hope people that are reading my review will consider trying to have a...
Read moreRoom is big and has a balcony. Lots of window and have a view. Quite a satisfying stay.
Its near to the airport which is even better. Airport is literally right next to the hotel.
Breakfast is great. Lots of choices. Service desk is great. No hassle.
#Edited on 8 march 2023, second stay.
So i liked my last stay and went ahead to stay again at jinhold. Booked the wrong rooms but thats okay as its an user error. Stayed there either way.
Room was not great. The curtains was badly damaged. Window was not cleaned or never been cleaned at all.
At the worst trip of my stay. Theres a bird nesting ourside of the balcony. I got pooped on because i was invading their space that i paid for. Floor was dusty and full of bird puke and poop. Embarrassing. Truly bad second experience.
Morning breakfast is great but pls let us use the correct utensils. For mee, i prefer using tongs and not a spoon to lift it to my plate. Food was medium but it fills the belly.
Its a good spot to stay when traveling. Other than that. They need improvement.
#Edited for third stay May 2024.
Gonna make this short, only negative as I've been reviewing this hotel many times. Theres no initiative for improvement.
Breakfast, nobody is attending us on the laksa and egg station. Food was not topup until requested.
Room, Tv is on but theres never been a signal. On all channels. Atleast make it a smart tv. Upon entering the room, the balcony door is open and we had to chase out the bird that is inside. No hairdryer.
Toilet, low water pressure.
And this is the worst one, washing machine and dryer. Its being used by the people who work their to wash their pool towels that are yellow coloured.
Theres only 1 dryer and its barely working, the door of the dryer can shut in properly causing it to stop working. You need to hold the dryer door for it to work. Had to bring home washed and wet laundry.
I dont understand why its getting a 4.5 rating with its really a 1 star hotel. Year after year theres no improvement. Really...
