LAWSON INN — Hotel in Borneo

Hotel is very clean, bedding is very comfortable, value for money. However people who are sensitive to noises should reconsider when booking due to poor sound proofing. Since it’s at shop lot, there are all kinds noises from the supermarket and cafe below during day time. Also, there are rooms just beside the reception counter, however the receptionist who worked night shift during my stay seems to be unaware of the poor sound proofing and played video loudly in the middle of the night, until a customer came out from room to tell her off. I visited Sibu in August this year from the UK and had to get a room last minute.

Lawson Inn was in a useful area and well priced so I chose it with little research but it was brilliant for what I was expecting considering the price and last minute decision.

The room was large, bright, and comfortable. Facilities were good, nice bed, large tv, good WiFi etc.

The location is useful with shops and restaurants downstairs. I was on the top floor with a room facing the car park. I saw some reviews mentioning the loud noise but from my room at least I could not hear anything and was not disturbed.

Definitely worth checking out for a good value...

Lawson is a nice and new hotel. It has a lift so no issue to go up to the lobby which is located on the 1st floor. Hotel is quiet at night as it is located away from town center bustling area. There are 2 restaurants downstairs, food kioks and a supermarket nearby. Places of interest are not too far and Grab and Maxim (e-hailing) easily available.
