Booked a family suite via agoda and paid full for 17-19th June 2023. Upon arrival at malacca at around 6+pm, we proceed to check in and to our horror, we were told by the receptionist that there is no room available. He claimed that this situation always happened and this is how their booking system work, always overbook. They physically have 10 rooms but in agoda, they will claim that they have more than 10 rooms. They have a sister hotel OYO 1184 HO hotel just down the street as well and they claimed that both hotels are fully booked. There is no way they can offer us a room. Imagine we came all the way from Singapore and Penang and ended up no where to stay for the night. After some time of negotiations, we were forced to leave the hotel.
We have a relative that managed to get a room from them in the morning. 1 hour later she went back to ask if there are any room available and to our dismay, the same receptionist told her that there a few types of room available! But the charges will be higher at 90rm per night for twin sharing room. Family suite is also available at 100rm++ per night. When we booked via agoda the night before. The price was at sgd41.66 for 2 nights stay. This is obviously a scam! They probably feels that agoda charges is lower so they wanted to charge walk in customer at a higher price. As we were to attend a wake at the funeral parlour across the street, we got no choice but to pay this additional 90rm per night room for twin sharing as there isn’t any other hotel left nearby.

Read moreI would have given 0 star if possible. We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights and to our horror the rooms were nightmare. We were informed the water heater in one of the rooms was not working, which we were fine with it because we can use another room's hot shower. But, what we weren't told about was both rooms have no functioning toilet... Couldn't flush at all! There were water buckets prepared for manual flushing. No toilet rolls were given. We had to request. Dirty and yellowish bedsheets and duvet covers, and when asked for a change, the housekeeping team had the audacity to explain to us the bedsheets were clean, the stains were just old stubborn stains! The aircon in one of the rooms was not working normally despite having it turned on for hours in lowest temperature and maximum fan speed! The room was so hot and stuffy. We traveled a lot and this is not our first time staying at a budget hotel. This is by far the dirtiest, poorest standard and most rundown budget hotel. Definitely money wasting. You can provide basic amenities but you must never compromise cleanliness! Read moreWorst experience ever. I have booked and sucessfully paid for room. When I check on my booking, payment is on hold. I have tried so many times to engage the OYO's customer service but unfortunately only computerized operator can give thes feedback. The system said that my booking was on hold because did not meet the minimum payment of RM60, even I have paid it. They shared the link for payment but it cannot be used and google also blocked the link given as it not followed the restricted requirement from google. I have no choice. I went out directly to the hotel and said my booking was on the oyo system. I dropped the deposit and checked in. Suddenly, the receptionist came to my room and mentioned that they cannot "check in" button in OYO system. I saw it and noticed it stucked. I have no choice and have to pay it again,directly to the hotel. I still look at the 'Booking' in the OYO apps, but still nothing.
