Kuih Nyonya Kim – Batu Berendam, Melaka
This humble Nyonya kuih muih stall is a true local gem. Not many tourists know about it, but for locals it has long been a breakfast favourite. My wife and I have been visiting this stall for over 15 years, especially for their fragrant nasi lemak and traditional Nyonya snacks.
We remember when one of the siblings opened a shoplot branch nearby, but the choices were fewer compared to this original roadside stall. On our recent visit, we discovered it is now run by the younger generation of the Nyonya Kim family – a heartening sign that their tradition continues.
The nasi lemak is still satisfying, and the kuih – from seri muka to rempah udang and kuih lapis – remain soft, fresh, and not overly sweet. Prices are fair, though popular items sell out quickly, so it’s best to come early.

Everything is made fresh on the day. Delicious and fresh! Which is probably why they’re locals favorite.
Well known for their Kuih, they’re all worth a try. I recommend them all. They’re at 1.10 MYR a piece and dish of the day is 2 MYR. Check their available dish of the day in the menu below.
My favorite is the turtle shell one (Ang Ku Kuih) the white bean filling. A classic one is peanut filling, which seems to be harder to find for some reason.
Nasi Lamak here is home made which have a gentler homely flavor. Fried chicken is add on, get them if you can it’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
The family is very warm and fast at helping you out. I can not commend their hospitality enough.
The location is far away from the main city, towards the airport. So spare some time to come in the morning due to...
Read moreHappens to be nearby so dropped by at 9.30am in the Sunday morning and most of the kuih were sold out. Only left fried banana, fried sweet potato and dadar gulung. Don't go for the fried banana & sweet potato, they are super oily and the banana and sweet potato aren't taste good at all . The dadar gulung isn't suit my taste as well. Can't comment more on other kuih as no chance to try. Can consider to dropby if you are in that area and do go early so you can get to try most of the kuih. I won't recommend purposely get there as the kuih isnt as good...
