Super OYO 90086 My Seven Days Inn — Hotel in Johor

THIS HOTEL TRY TO SCAM ME!

I reached at evening around 5-6pm. During check in, i request to have ground floor room as i have many things plus this hotel don’t have lift somemore i will check out early around 7.45am-8am. I paid online during booking. So they request to pay deposit and i agree even during booking online, didn’t mention about this.

So the staff told me they had one room at ground floor, but the aircond cannot setting. So i understand means the room will be super cool. But i am super duper tired at that time (i come from KL, then went to Desaru and now in Pasir Gudang). So without thinking much, I just agree with the mindset I will check out early morning. So just bare for few hours only. The worst is I will switch off the aircond and make myself stay in warm until i feel super hot to turn on the aircond back.

I ask the staff is it the room have cockroach. She didn’t answer my question. But she replied with sentence “cockroach from outside can enter the room because got space from the door to the floor”. So i start thinking of hygiene issue and poor pest control management for this hotel. But since i don’t have much choice because of tired body, i just keep quiet. In my mind, i keep thinking of one solution; bring baygon (that specific for coackroach) from my car to the room. So anything happens i no need to scream out and call the staff. Somemore my room infront of public washroom, probably cockroach can come out from the washroom and enter my room through the hole below the door.

Then i start carrying my things from car to the room. Upon enter room and turn on the aircond, I realise something. Actually the air swing of the aircond cannot open. The remote also not provided inside that room. So now it has 2 issues here; the aircond cannot adjust the temperature and the air swing component also cannot open. So the air flow from aircond is not like normal aircond (refer to picture). But I just keep quiet because if i make a scene, they will change my room to another floor because ground floor don’t have any empty room anymore.

So I just pretend like everything under control until the staff came to my room and knocked the door(after 30 minutes). I am eating at that time.

She come with the list and sudden told me I need top up some amount because she overlooked my room type. I told her since beginning she’s the one provide me the room, somemore this room have aircond issue. Then i told her i will check out early. So she still can earn more by allowing other guest to check in after me. She said that’s not her problem and she insisted stating i am the one request to get ground floor room. At first I agree to top up RM10, means deduct from deposit. But then when she sounds so rude like that, I reaffirm back my points and i st8 close the door without give her my final decision.

Then she keep talking with other staff (uncle) about me. I can listen to everything because they both have loud voice. Then she came for second time and knocked the room. This time, I don’t want to open. I also can say (but only to myself) this not my problem because the room was assigned by her. I don’t intrude to any room in this hotel without permission.

Somemore that room doesn’t have enough privacy because I can’t listen to their conversations at receptionist. In front of my room too got washroom for public use including the staff and one room for pantry or laundry ( I can’t recall now). So all the noisy already disturb my privacy, I don’t get enough rest and of course sleep.

The thing not yet finish. That lady make a phone call to someone (from their conversation, i am understand that person in the phone is the one set up the room for me, so this lady just assigned to me without double check) while trying to knock my room door again. Then I listen and get another info; the room assigned to me in level 3 actually got problem too (aircond issue and don’t have tv). So they also told to each other that room also cannot use for guest. Then lastly the lady put a blame to the person she talk to...

The staff is kind and helpful. Just that it is a non smoking building, yet i smell cigarette smoke along the hallway of my room. Infact the smoke travelled in between the space of my door room. Annoyed. Bcs the room i am staying has no window. Hence, it is not well ventilated. Hope they can emphasize the non-smoking policy. Make those who commit the stupidity pay fine or etc. Cheap for a...

My room door doesn't shut firmly, you can peek what's inside from the gap between the door and the frame. Worse, the door latch is exposed so that you can just slide a credit card and it will pop open from the outside. Luckily there's a deadbolt on the inside.
