Probably this resort was top class in colonial days, but now it’s passed its best. The plus points: the surrounding wooded area provides a peaceful ambience, with hornbill and drongo birds, the occasional monitor lizard and monkeys. The resort has pleasant grounds to walk around. The main reason I chose this hotel was its nice swimming pool (1.4m depth). However, on arrival they informed us that it is open to the public from Thursday to Sunday. In reality, the public came whenever they wanted as there is often no guard. Evidently, the local boys love the pool for jumping and diving. Weekends at the pool are like circus training.||The management and housekeeping are quite laid-back, but do respond well to requests or complaints.||The WiFi can be rather weak. Breakfast is a quite generous buffet but basic, although they did order yoghurt especially for us.||The room are in bungalows, with an extra living rom in between two double sized bedrooms. We booked an ‘Executive Suite’ of 83 m which included 1 double bedroom and the living room. The rooms have a fridge and an iron with ironing board.||Despite the resort being a bit old and in need of modernisation, I would still consider to rebook as we liked the quieter area away from the main tourist areas of...

Bathroom was flooded plus the cabin was awful! Plus no greeting or no one showed us around! In room food service was rubbish as the menu didn't have much and when they moved us to the second room the main door had no security where the receptionist found it funny and was joking around saying "Why you don't feel safe?" Which I thought was appalling and the edge of the cabin wood was broken so east access for the mosquitoes and bugs to enter. It's also connected to other rooms. Also two other mattresses were on the floor in the rooms. Like why?! The rooms does not look like it does on the pictures for sure. I had to make another reservation at another resort which was 2 stars but better value for money. The hotel staff don't even speak English where they'll say okay okay but don't understand you! I lost out on my hotel booking money which is a shame as this resort is the worst one I've ever seen. Instead of three stars it should be one star as the room air con wasn't great either! DON'T BOOK people unless your into mother nature and don't mind wasting your money feel free! Hope my...

FIRST ISSUE: Paper thin wooden walls. No noise proofing. If by any chance u have noisy neighbors, you're done for. Unfortunately that was the case with us. The neighbors kept coughing and making noise the whole night and then their alarm went off at 5 in the morning. Apparently it didn't have snooze so it would keep ringing until somebody actually turned it off. And then it'll go off again after 5 mins and it stayed like that until 6.30 when they finally turned it off. I even learnt the lyrics of the Malaysian song on the ringtone! SECOND ISSUE....they use their swimming pool as a public pool which is why it gets very crowded, especially on the weekends. A lot of locals from nearby villages come with their kids and that basically is not the ideal situation for the guests. THIRD ISSUE: a lot of lizards in the room. But to the resort's credit, they gave us a bug spray which had to be sprayed directly at the lizards. I...

We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights. Generally, the resort was a bit rundown. It could be creepy for those who are afraid of dark and ghosts. The resort was desolate, quiet and serene. Traditional. We all loved it. We had two connecting rooms next to each other. The resort was fairly near to our favorite breakfast spot, Nasi Dagang Pak Malau. Though, we had to drive to commute to everywhere. It was convenient for us. However, everyone is encouraged to rent a car to stay in Kampung Tok Senik Hotel. Overall stay was OK. Neither the best nor horrible. If you expect a high-end and luxurious hotel, don’t stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn’t have breakfast included, not needed. Value for money.

I personally love the beautiful serene Malay Village environment surrounding the resort, it gives me so much calmness and peace of mind walking around the resort in the early evening. I love their design of the houses and rooms, it's exactly what the Malay usually have back in the old days. It really feels like I'm having a true vacation, away from work. The facilities are good enough for me although it may not be the best but I guess they will improve when they have the budget for it. The housekeeping is also amazing too. And the price is relatively cheap. I rent a car so I don't mind the location being a bit further from Cenang Beach, the real center of tourists.

A hidden gem of a resort deep in Langkawi far from touristy areas. It's a sprawling resort located over a huge wooded area. You need a car to travel from the lobby area to your room or from your room to the pool or restaurant. It's a very very old resort and this shows in the condition of the fixtures and furniture. The resort is okay but not fully well maintained. So be aware. I have been there twice over the years and I quite love it for the secluded feel of the place, the incredible large pool located on top of a hill and the restaurant located on top of another hill.
