Tucked away along the peaceful old road of Bentong lies a place where warm earth and cool rainforest meet — Suria Hot Spring Bentong, a natural retreat that has been quietly bubbling for generations.
Many travellers know Bentong for its winding green hills and durians, but not everyone knows about the natural hot spring hidden just an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur. This place isn’t just another resort; it sits on a living fault line where underground water is heated deep within the earth, rising to the surface at a comforting 43 °C. Long before the resort came, the local kampung folks were already soaking their feet here, believing the sulphur-rich water could ease tired muscles and soothe the soul.
As you arrive, the air carries a light mineral scent, and steam floats gently above the pools like soft morning mist. On one side, a public hot spring welcomes anyone passing through, just as it has done for decades. On the other, a more modern Suria Hot Spring Resort now stands — built in the mid-2010s to offer travellers a place to unwind with comfort while staying connected to the natural world.
What makes this place special isn’t just the warm water. It’s the feeling of stillness. Surrounded by rainforest and hills, you’ll hear cicadas and running streams more than city noise. The hot spring water, flowing naturally from deep beneath the Sungai Benus fault zone, is said to help improve blood circulation and relax the body. Locals often come here after a long day, while travellers dip in under the stars after a road trip.
The resort itself has grown to host visitors from around Malaysia and beyond — offering cozy rooms, villas with private jacuzzis, and family-friendly pools. But step a little outside the main gate, and you’ll still find traces of the old hot spring charm — where villagers once gathered in the evenings to share stories while their feet soaked in warm mineral water.
Every now and then, the earth reminds visitors of its living power. In 2021, heavy rain caused floods around the area — a moment that showed how closely nature and this hot spring are tied together. Yet the spring endures, just as it has for years.
Whether you’re chasing a weekend escape from the city or simply curious about Malaysia’s natural wonders, Suria Hot Spring Bentong offers more than a soak. It offers a glimpse into how people and the earth have shared warmth long before modern resorts arrived.

Read morepool was dirty, there was small white bits like tissue floating in children pool
room looks new however not maintained and not clean. We booked 3 single bed room and we merged 3 beds together, upon moving the beds we found so many food bits on the floor (that was under the bed). Meaning it was not cleaned at all.
There was hair on the pillow. Pillow was old, only one layer of sheet so you can see how dirty is the pillow underneath.
the bed sheets had stains and stains that you can feel upon touching. I don’t think sheets was changed. Unfortunately right after the stay I had severe allergy and had to go doctor, I suspect due to bed bugs from the stay.
toilet was not clean too. There was hair at the sink and urine stains on the toilet bowl. The upon using the sink tap the hole on the floor accumulated water and our toilet was flooding. But what was good is they came and fix it.
room no hair dryer, have to request. No toothbrush, have to buy from them. The water bolier jar thing had water inside from previous guest, abit geli to see to be honest.
hot spring was nice. It felt like a warm pool. It looked clean too. There was 2 hot spring, one was super hot and another was just nice and warm. Nevertheless I think they pump the water from the public hot spring pool right outside the hotel. (Just my guess, I can be wrong)
hotel is right beside ECRL construction, I guess it can be abit noisy or dusty. I went during long weekend so it seems fine, tho it the sight of the ECRL was not too appealing.
road to the hotel is quite deep in and no street lamp. Be careful when driving. Road can be big then suddenly turn small when turning.
Overall for the affordable price I guess you cannot ask much. But I did stay in other affordable hotels and it was not this bad. I cannot comment on the food we choose not to eat there.
This place has potential for short getaway with the hot spring attraction, but if the hotel doesn’t improve its maintenance and cleanliness then it’s hard to attract guests to stay. It is not a place to stay for more than 1 or 2 nights as there is literally nothing to do here apart from pool and hot spring. You’ll have to go to nearby area like bentong or bukit tinggi berjaya hill for entertainment and...
Read moreOverall it was OK. The staffs generally are friendly.
We stayed in the three storey buildings. The room was OK. What I like most is it is wooden floor not carpeted so there's no moldly smell. Bed was OK, no funny smell. However, there's some small stain on the bedsheet which I choose to ignore it. Not sure the condition of chalet.
The cupboard and drawers do have a funny smell... And the bath towels smells like it was not thoroughly dried. And it was scented, I'm not sure whether it was caused by the detergent they used or other reason. If you have allergy skin I will suggest you to bring your own bath towels.
There are shower gel, hair shampoo, sanitary bag and shower cap provided. No toothbrush and toothpaste. Remember to bring yours.
The mugs, there are some stains but if you don't use it then it's ok.
There are ants in the rooms probably caused by the leftover food that we thrown into the dustbin. Try not to eat in the room.
My kids loves their kiddie pool. The pool area quite small. They have added few seating areas but might not enough when it is crowded. And the adult pool is pretty small... It's more for the kids then adults. There are two hot pools. It is too hot to my liking and not adjustable. And there's little shades so if you might want double think before deciding want to enjoy the hot pool in the afternoon. Morning and night might be good timing.
The breakfast is.... I have no words to describe. My advice is if you can afford to skip the breakfast, please do so. The variety is little. The waffle is well... not to my liking. The only food I like is the white bread and the butter and jams. I have no idea why the cafeteria can be rated as A. I noticed there are stains on some of the plates and cups so do check before you decide to use it.
I don't mind to be there again but probably will be well prepared...
