Absolutely enjoyed our stay at Brickhouse! The seven of us friends stayed here overnight to celebrate Nowruz & also a birthday over a BBQ meal. Highly recommended for a group of friends or family as it's truly a wonderful place to enjoy time together.
When it comes to the property: As you drive in, the first thing that catches your eye is the gorgeous pool overlooking green hills and plantations. Just beside the pool is the main building with its exposed brick-cement exterior and open-air layout giving a sense of warmth to the place. On the raised ground floor of the main building, there is a kitchen with a good range of appliances and well-stocked utensils plus cookware to use and a dining area overlooking a green yard. The other highlight is the separate BBQ area equipped with BBQ grills and picnic table. Even a baby crib and proper toilet cubicles were provided on the same floor.
Since Brickhouse could accommodate up to 20 pax, there were more than enough bedrooms on the first floor of the main building and a smaller separate building. On the first floor of the main building, there is a living area with TV, comfortable couches and beanbags. Each bedroom came with towels and bathrooms with body wash and shampoo. Suffice to say, Brickhouse, pays close attention to taking care of its guests.
With that said, as the Brickhouse property is amongst trees and greenery, there is quite a lot of insects plus mosquitoes come evening time. So make sure to bring insect/ mosquito repellent when staying and refrain from leaving exposed food out at night.
Service-wise: Wonderful service! There is a designated staff who assists 24/7 to open the property for check-in. When we ran out of coal for our BBQ, the staff bought more for us upon our late-night request. What we also really appreciated was that Vincent, the host, was accommodative in allowing us to extend our stay till night despite check-out being 3pm even though there was an event planned the next day. We paid a small hourly extension fee, which was worth it.
Brickhouse is definitely one of the best staycation venues that is not too far from KL or PJ and well worth to come...
Read more2022: still a dope place to stay, although prices have increased slightly (inflation for the lose). The pool makes sunny afternoons so easy to bear now! Ktv could use some user friendliness improvements, but we spend all our time downstairs anyway. The one place where rain at night is a huge plus!
The Brickhouse is an amazing place to chill out and unwind from the stresses of city life. Located less than an hour away from KL (though the Karak highway can be jammed up) this amazing 3 story home sleeps up to 12 people with enough space for 40 to hang around.
This concrete-and-steel home is well appointed, with extremely hot showers and comfortable beds for all who stay. The rooftop is still an open area with a ton of space to have a sunny picnic outdoors - can you say Sunday mimosas with a view?
Located just a few minutes outside of town, there are several amazing Chinese restaurants nearby for those who aren't skilled in cooking, some of which can even cater 3-meals a day to Brickhouse (with some arrangement). The fish and lala (clams) are fresh AF, surprising for a highland area, with the veggies coming straight from nearby farms.
If you're looking for a family getaway, staycation with friends, or an overnight trip to a place with food, shopping, waterfalls, and nature nearby, look no further!
Edit: have stayed here another 5 separate times. Every time has been great! Easy access to food, well appointed house, amazing time chilling out with...
Read moreWe booked for a 3 days 2 night stay during the CNY period. Hassle free check in and the space is private. All cooking utensils are available if you would like to cook. The place is clean, big, minimalistic and peaceful. There were 1 stray dog and cat, with no monkeys in sight during our stay. Great place for a family get together. The only minus point was there was no hand railing for the stairs on the main building. Our grandma and my mum (with knee pain) had difficulty getting upstairs. Although the annex building is ground floor, it is some walking distance away (no problem for young people but a concern for old folks) and cars cannot reach as the walkway is not big enough for car to pass thru. So grandma and mum still decided to stay in the main building and brave thru the stairs. I did feedback to the owner Mr Vincent right after our trip. Within 2 weeks, they have taken our feedback into consideration and action! Hand railings are now available for those who need it to get upstairs! Kudos to Mr Vincent and team. Would love to be back to this beautiful place! Keep up the good...
