Concept: This house concept was good, able to fit 4-6 in a space. Bathroom: Stated only 1 bathroom, but good thing is that the bathroom split into 2 spaces (1/2 for bath, 1/2 for toilet, both with doors. Location: location was okay to reach to ipoh town. They have own parking premise (first come first serve basis). However, poor at signage, as we missed our turn to our air bnb location. Check-in: they last minute changed our room unit from block A to block B. Our check in time is 3pm, but they informed at 3.15pm without more details. We then need to call Person in charge to get more info, such as password, unit room and etc Refrigerator spoilt: when we arrived, we switched on refrigerator (pluck was removed) and stock our our dairies and drinks, and then left for ipoh touring. When we got back at night, got to know the refrigerator is like sauna! Environment: dust at fan, spider web at ceiling, STAINS on floor and walls. Air cond at living room with water dripping. Urine stain on toilet bowl. 3 out of 4 of us had sinus. Blood stain (darker brownish colour) on white blanket. Safety: Our room doorknob doesnt seems safe, seems like anyone can break in anytime. Facilities: there is a swimming pool. But it’s cloudy in colour, and smells bad (like dirty socks soaked in the pool) Telco: digi no line. Umobile was fine Booked through airbnb, at Rm264.48 including cleaning fees. BUT WHERE’s the CLEANING

Pro: - Easy access In the middle of ipoh town - for those who are on the go or want to explore ipoh town & surround - for those small budget - although small but can fit 4 people comfortably. - basic need is provided like iron & board. Kettle, tv, aircond , wifietc. - got small poll for kids - ample parking lot for tenants - a space for solah for 2 & need to squeeze for 3. - toilet is clean - small but almost everything available. I like here. Cons: - please drive slowly upon reach the area as the entrance to this homestay is not visible. Or you need to make one round more. - upon check in we found that mosquitos already inside our room. After spray with fumakila vape more than 30 mosquitos scattered in the room. - this is simply because the toilet venting window was opened. - another thing is next to our room got a grass field which is an attraction for the mosquitoes. - this is from my observation. Maybe right & maybe wrong. As a conclusion, everything is just fine but kindly bring your own fumakila vape in your car like i did to encounter this matter. Please put our pressurized can away from heat/ direct sunshine to avoid unnecessary problem like explode etc Tq.

1 word Horrible! Toilet : leakage from ceiling & the whole toilet is damp. The toilet seat cover is broken. The wall is stained & the floor is sticky like a layer of dirt! Room : acceptable as the single bed quite spacious for me. It is spring bed which is bouncy, so turn properly. But abit dirty the sheets as i woke up with small tiny bits all over my body, as im quite sensitive to dust mites. Room can be cosy cz quite dark. Fridge is not cold. Iron, iron board, hair dryer, towel, tv available. Some switch in the room not working properly & some are spoiled. Our room is near the pool. We can hear screaming of the kids, playing at the pool. Actually if the place is nicely & properly maintained by people with Hospitality Management it should be fine. For such price RM151 (twin room, 1 night) consider acceptable. Event hall available too. Parking is convenient right in front of the stay. Self check-in. Booked from Agoda, passwords were given & pick up the access card & keys from the safety box. Wifi available - connection is ok, if lagged need to reconnect your wifi.

I recently stayed at the Kinta Valley Retreat Hotel for the second time, and while the hotel concept is appealing, the overall management leaves much to be desired. One major disappointment was the absence of room service for stays exceeding two nights. Upon my initial check-in, I was shocked to find that the blanket provided was more of a cover, insufficient to combat the cold night temperatures.

The state of the room further diminished my experience, as the furniture appeared old and damaged. The cups provided were oily, and the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired, with visible rubbish not properly attended to. A concerning observation was the suspicion that the blanket may not have been changed after the departure of the previous guest, given its filthy state. Unfortunately, the limited number of elderly hotel customer service staff made it impractical for them to address these issues promptly.

The bathroom was also a point of dissatisfaction, as remnants of the previous guest's toothpaste were left on the mirror, evoking a sense of disgust. In summary, while the hotel's concept is commendable, the lack of room service for extended stays, worn-out furniture, cleanliness issues, and inadequately addressed concerns detract significantly from the overall guest experience. The management's attention to these crucial details is essential for guests to fully enjoy their stay at the Kinta Valley...

You can clearly see the thought put into this place: enough beds for guests, family-friendly, but it badly needs maintenance. Luckily, the upper bed was usable, but the lower one was so worn out you could feel the metal frame pressing through. Then there was the issue with the door lock, it stopped working by the second morning.

Not all amenities were functional either. The toilet bowl smelled, and the room wasn't well cleaned, because the cleaning staff had been relaxing and watching videos inside. Noise is always a problem here. During my first stay, some guests brought their own speaker and played loud music while barbecuing at midnight, and the guard at the time ignored it.

This time, it was the guard. He was making loud phone calls and playing videos right outside my room, despite a sign clearly asking guests to keep their voices down during certain hours. I wasn’t going to complain at first, it was raining, and I assumed he needed water from the indoor dispenser, but the noise continued for over an hour, and it was already past midnight. I asked him to take his call elsewhere, he apologized and returned to the guard house. However, he began talking even louder, as if distance would make a difference, and his voice echoed throughout the entire car park. It’s exhausting to have to complain about...
