Starz Water Village — Hotel in Sabah

I saw some horrifying reviews from people. Understandable that different people have different experience during their stay.

However, i went with my friends 5 of us here. Booked by our travel agent and I can tell you it was meant to be. We were supposed to go with different tour agent but last minute changes we went with Legend Tours and they booked us this resort.

It was amazing. I am not paid for this review but we all loved it here. I didnt wanted to go back, we make friends with the staff Elffie and Afi. All of the staff are good and amazing. They brought us snorkelling and got to see turtle on our first swim.

Food wise, the first night we had amazing Sambal Ketam and we have to fight with the chinese tourist but the staff already saved some for us. Same thing with the second night. Probably they changed their chefs hence why our food tasted excellent.

As for water pressure, it is understandable that the water pressure is a bit slow because we are in the middle of the ocean with no clean water access. But probably most of the reviewers here came during peak time which are during school holidays, so I recommend u to come not on school holidays.

The ambiance and atmosphere was amazing. Night view felt like im in a dream. It was really amazing and wonderful. We fell in love with the sunset views and the whole experience are top notch.

Definitely the best week i had yet...

This place was a huge disappointment, and honestly, I wouldn't want anyone else to make the same mistake I did. Please, please don't be fooled by any positive reviews you see – my experience was completely different. I've stayed in tons of hotels, and this one is easily one of the worst.

The service was just…wow. The reception staff spent most of their time glued to their phones. It felt like they couldn't care less about the guests. And get this – no Wi-Fi! Seriously, in this day and age, how is that even possible? It was a major inconvenience. Plus, the room and bathroom weren't clean, which was the last straw.

I'm stuck here for five days, and I already regret it so much. I definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and book...

Non so come ci siamo ritrovati in questa struttura, in internet si trovano davvero poche informazioni e per prenotare, dove averla trovata su google maps, abbiamo contattato direttamente la struttura che è prevalentemente dedicata ad un target cinese infatti dei 60 ospiti solo in due eravamo occidentali. Non è un difetto ma va considerato che bisogna adattarsi alla loro cultura, cibo comportamenti intrattenimenti.|Cibo prevalentemente allineato a cinese, che non è come un ristorante cinese in Europa, ma è cinese cinese cinese, anche a merenda veniva servita un brodo molto particolare.|La struttura è fantastica in quanto posizionata con palafitte sul mare, il tutto in non piu di un centinaio di metri calpestatili; il vantaggio è che intanto che sei a cena le tartarughe passano sotto di te e tutto diventa favoloso!!!!|Ambiente bello ma potrebbe essere curato di più, i fondali facendo semplice snorkeling è pieno zeppo di rifiuti, è vero che tutta l'area di semporna è sommersa da plastica ma se tutti facessero uno sforza le meraviglie di quel mare ne gioverebbero, quindi un po di sforzo e fate raccogliere anche la plastica sotto l'acqua della vostra struttura.|La stanza è pulita ed accogliente, un bel balconcino permette di godersi il mare ad ogni ora del giorno e della notte.|Noi abbiamo trascorso tre notti, ma la maggior parte degli ospiti cinesi stava overnight, c'era un ricambio quotidiano.|Dal porto di semporna per raggiungere la struttura ci si impiega 30 minuti di barca veloce.|NOTA DOLENTE: solo sul posto abbiamo scoperto che non è possibile pagare il soggiorno con carta di credito, dopo aver fatto bonifico di acconto dall'Italia sul posto due giorni prima del soggiorno abbiamo ricevuto stressanti chiamate da parte dell'albergo sollecitandoci il saldo o con bonifico o con contanti (se arrivi dalla giungla trovare un money change o un bancomat non è cosa così scontata). Abbiamo trovato molto stressante questo disagio che abbiamo risolto non con pochi problemi chiedendo quasi la cortesia di accettare gli euro al posto dei myr.|Personale abbastanza gentile, a parte la direttrice che alle volte fa forse finta di non capire quello...
