Thundi was our home away from home for 7 nights! It is THE place to stay while at Fulidhoo. My husband and I are divers and found Thundi to provide the perfect place to host us during our vacation. Thundi has it all - a beautiful house reef, amazing food, and a must-try spa! Most importantly, Thundi is staffed by truly kind and wonderful people that really go out of their way to make you feel welcomed.
Room: Our room was great in size and layout. Plenty of space and even a nice closet space to lay out clothes if staying there for a few days. The outside deck area was also perfect as it had a drying rack for laying out our dive gear and swimwear. The bathroom was just the right size as it allowed for easy clean up without having to worry too much about dragging sand in, etc. The AC worked perfectly during our stay, though we did not use it except at night. A fully stocked minibar also helped us make sure we had drinkable water to take during our dives and not have to worry about getting water elsewhere.
Spa: I was so glad we were able to try the spa services. If you are in Fulidhoo, and want to treat yourself, get a message at Thundi. You will not regret it. We got the sports massage and walked out like completely different people. I had weird pain in my leg and my husband had a back spasm prior to getting the massage, and we walked out without any pain! Truly therapeutic!
Facilities/Miscellaneous: We had most of our days planned with dives; but found that Thundi really offered a variety of relaxing activities for our rest days. You can have hours of fun snorkeling right at the house reef, which is a few feet away from Thundi's front door- plus the opportunity to spot a curious turtle or two! Thundi has a few hammocks, beach chair, and fun swings that are perfect for a nap or reading a book. We were also pleased to find a small common area with board games that offered a nice alternative to our busy dive days. Lastly, Thundi has a list of excursions for people interested in going fishing or even going to see dolphins!
Food: See Faru Cafe (which is at the first level of Thundi) for a more thorough review. But we were told countless times by others not staying at Thundi, that Thundi had great food, and it never disappointed! Whether its an omelet, curry or a burger, you'll leave more than satisfied after eating at Thundi. And did I mention they have...
Read moreMy stay at Thundi Sea View was marked by hidden fees, overpriced activities, unreasonable Wi-Fi policies, and poor customer service. Given the price they charge, I had expected a much more enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel and would rate it between 3 and 4 out of 10. It's essential to consider other options in Fulidhoo that offer better value and a more pleasant stay.
Here's a breakdown of my stay:
Hidden Fees: One of the first disappointments was the hotel's hidden fees. They charged a hefty 3.5% or 4.0% fee for using a bank card. If you opted to pay in local currency, they added a 15% conversion fee. These additional costs were not mentioned during the booking process and left a sour taste.
Overpriced Activities: Thundi Sea View offers various activities, but their prices are exorbitant. For instance, a picnic island excursion could set you back up to 250USD per person. These inflated prices made it difficult to fully enjoy the island's offerings.
Unreasonable Wi-Fi Policy: Perhaps one of the most frustrating aspects of my stay was the hotel's Wi-Fi policy. Even as a guest, they refused to provide the Wi-Fi password for the restaurant area. This restriction felt unreasonable and inconvenient.
Poor Customer Service: The staff at Thundi Sea View, especially the person in charge, left much to be desired. The individual had difficulty communicating in English and often stuttered, making it challenging to understand them. Requests for clarification were met with a rude attitude, which was both frustrating and...

The tiny sandy island is a little Paradise on earth - especially in August, when there is not so much tourists. You can walk around it in a half an hour by foot, and enjoy the tranquility, the birdsong and the rumble of the see. There are only few little shops, a school, a mosque, and two restaurants on the island - total peace...The well equipped nice hotel has clean rooms and perfect localization with sea view - the sand is white, the water is clear - the food and programs organized by the hotel are great - and the most important: we’ve never met such caring, warm hearted and attentive people, like the Thundi Guest House’s hotel management. The hospitality and affectionate attitude of Shifaz (and Hussein, Arif and the whole staff) is unsurpassed (they fulfilled our all requests immediately), their sensitive attention and helpfulness is exemplary - we all could learn from them a lot, first of all humanness.Hussein, keep your smile forever... Shifaz - thank you, and thanks your staff again - You gave us much more, than few marvelous days of relax on a wonderful island. We hope strongly, that we will have opportunity to come back sometime.
