Our trip there was one of the best experiences ever! My husband and I, as well as our friends, booked two beach villas for a week to celebrate two important days: the birthday of one of the trip participants and our anniversary. We came early in the morning and were glad to see the speedboat was already there, waiting for us. It's also great that the resort is not too far from the Male, so you don't have to spend hours to reach your destination. The hotel staff were extremely nice to us and to our incredible surprise, they not just offered to upgrade our beach villas to the water bungalows as a happy birthday present (they didn't know about our anniversary anyway because we were too shy to tell about it after the birthday news 😅) for free, but also presented a birthday cake on the dinner and did everything possible to allow us to check in and go to our bungalows a few hours earlier so that we, tired from the journey, could get some sleep instead of waiting for check-in time! 🥺 All of that was extremely heartwarming. The water bungalows have an amazing view, spacious bathroom with excellent hot water pressure in a walk-in shower (but please! Check out the bathtub in room 522 because we tried to take a bath once and a small leak appeared somewhere under the bathtub! It's not that terrible because the bungalow is over water, however it may make guests feel nervous!) and good working AC.I read that some people complain about too much noise from the water, we didn't experience such a problem. I slept well and my husband even had his daytime nap on the terrace in front of the sea and usually he can't sleep without earplugs. You also can go into the water via a ladder from the terrace, which we tried a few times, but I wouldn't recommend doing it without special water shoes because there are a lot of sharp stones and corals and sea urchins, and also the current is quite strong. So if you're not a good swimmer, it's better to go and snork in the lagone instead of near or under the bungalows. The food is great, especially if you're a fan of seafood, tuna and spices. Some of the dishes reminded me of Indian cuisine, although less spicy. Here I tried the best papaya I have ever tried before! And it was great to see ice cream! The snack bar was also great and they had a simple yet cool non-alcoholic cocktail Dhonveli punch and delicious fish puffs and waffles, which we enjoyed a lot.The prices for renting snorkeling equipment are quite high, so better take your own stuff. We enjoyed watching the small baby sharks, stingray, squids, one octopus and lots of fishes (but be careful, you can meet a trigger fish there). Also we took a turtle snorkeling tour, and it was a great pleasure to see these beautiful creatures in the wild. And a huge thanks for our speedboat team that brought us to a small patch of snow-white island in the ocean for photographs. If we had known there would be such a stop, we would have taken something nice to change into. 😂 But I'm really grateful to all the staff who made this trip so easy and unforgettable. ❤️ Unfortunately, there were no whale shark or manta ray excursions - manta rays were listed in the brochure, but we were told that it would be difficult to spot them in September. We also see reef sharks, but no nurse sharks. Hope to see them next time! We saw there incredibly beautiful sunsets and a stunning starry sky. We were very touched to receive sports bottles with the resort's and our names as a souvenir. Dear guys, I hope you'll read it: all of you are amazing! Thank you!

CAVEAT: I don't especially enjoy holidays. My wife forces me to go abroad each year! I find them a waste of money and would rather spend less having days out or investing money in other areas of our families life. However, she was brought up having holidays and finds them essential 🤔🫤 She tells me that this was around £500 more than going to Europe, therefore must have been a bargain? Family of four. Boys 10 & 16. One week from 24th Aug 2025. Room 207. Our long haul flight from the UK was exhausting and very uncomfortable (albeit we flew with Qatar and it was the best flight I have ever experienced). We had 2 legs, flying from Manchester to Doha, then onto Male. Add in a boat transfer to the Island it was approx 21 hours door to door (Doing it all again on the way home). For me, not worth the effort compared to a quick 1 or 2 hour flight to Spain. This is no reflection on the resort which is gorgeous. The staff are all very nice, kind, pleasant and helpful (they deserve a tip at the end of your stay). Each bar/location is equipped for the rainy season with robust plastic blinds to keep out the wind and rain (mostly). I did not like the frequent attempts to promote and sell their excursions/trips, especially during meals or evening family time. I understand they need to drum up business, but please leave me alone to make my own choices from the adverts posted around about the Sunset boat trip or BBQ meal etc... all at extra cost. Needless to say, the location is wonderful, especially when it is sunny. Bring water shoes to protect your feet in the pool or in the sea. The white sand is beautiful but there are plenty of shells and sharp bits in the water and on the shore line. Bring your own snorkel too. My kids LOVED seeing the amazing sea life which was literally visible from the shore and beyond. A pair of Binoculars would also be good to spot wildlife, boats, planes, nearby Islands (or your kids snorkeling!!) It was far too hot for my liking. However to avoid the inevitable moans of ' stop being grumpy', I sat on the beach, on a Sun lounger (in the shade) rather than retreating to the haven of our air conditioned bedroom (which was preferable). The swimming pool area had plenty of shade and was my favourite location to chill and read. There was usually a nice breeze from the sunset side of the Island. Not many sunbeds available but we usually found one because most people headed to the beach. Watching the amazing Bats flying and eating fruit from the trees was a unique experience. I used the gym regularly, which was a welcome early morning treat for me, followed by a filter coffee at the Tex Mex (sunset bar)! The Pool Table here is for Adults only, which was annoying when my 10 year old wanted to have a game with me. Entertainment was variable while we were there. Plenty of it in various locations. DJ on the beach. Live music at the bar, crab racing... When it rains, it rains! There were some rain coats in our room (very helpful). We were unfortunate enough to have our last two days mostly full of rain and wind. The drinks menus are full and varied. Check which ones are free for you if you are A.I.

I stayed at Cinnamon Dhonveli in a water bungalow, and it turned out to be the the best vacation I had in the last years (and I travel a lot). Tucked away from the busier parts of the island, my bungalow offered complete privacy, a wide-open view of the ocean, and a feeling of peace. It was always spotless, comfortable, and had everything I needed. What stood out most, beyond the island's natural beauty, was the people. The staff here are the heart of the island. Ren helped me through WhatsApp, supporting me with care and patience whenever I had a question or needed something. Hood took me on a great snorkeling trip. Bhagya, the hostess at the restaurant, made me feel at home with her warm presence and thoughtful attention. Sajevie prepared the most vibrant salads, always with a smile and welcoming energy. Tai worked tirelessly at the grill and pasta station, in intense heat, yet always greeted everyone with joy and light conversation. Mira, at reception, offered her time and care, making sure I felt held and supported. And my housekeeper kept the bungalow impeccably clean and fresh every day. Each of them brought something special, and I’m truly grateful. I mostly ate at Kaimala restaurant, the resort’s main buffet restaurant. The variety was excellent: from fresh salads and international dishes to regional Maldivian and Indian flavors. There was a Middle Eastern-themed night with delicious options like hummus and falafel. The pasta and pizza stations were always popular and freshly made. Breakfasts were generous, with many protein choices, eggs cooked to order, and soft, fluffy pancakes and waffles. I also loved the huge selection of desserts available every night, there was something sweet to suit every mood. Guests have unlimited access to free drinking water during the day. Maintenance team are pros! I had minor issues with an aircon in my room, and it was fixed within 30 min, they had to replace some part. Another thing that made a big impression on me was the resort’s commitment to sustainability. There’s no single-use plastic on the island. Water is provided in glass bottles. They recycle and purify water for gardening and toilets. There’s even an organic garden that grows some of the produce used in the kitchen. There was a tour around all these facilities, and it was super interesting to see "the backend" of this beautiful property and to know more about their operations. Although the resort was nearly full, it never felt crowded. The atmosphere remained calm and respectful, with plenty of quiet spaces to relax. The main beach area was more popular, especially in good weather, but I always found a spot early in the day. Night activities were various, I especially loved the live music nights and a karaoke party. Another great thing about the island is that you could choose between the quiet flat water lagoon for snorkeling or swimming and the windy surfing side if you feel like having a breath of fresh air. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, couples, families, or solo travelers like me looking for a peaceful retreat wrapped in kindness and care.

This resort is absolutely amazing. We stayed from December 25 to December 31 and every day felt like a dream in heaven. When we landed at the airport, the resort sent their boat crew to pick us up in a timely manner. The boat crew was extremely nice. They offered us fresh cold towels, cold water, and candies. The boat ride to the resort was 25 minutes, and when we got to the resort they did our temperature check, offered us juice and water, and checked our documentation in a smooth manner. Special thanks to Rishwaan for explaining us the island map to, and giving us all the information related to our stay and the types of amenities and excursions offered at the resort. Then, we went to our water bungalow, which was so clean and beautiful. We really loved our bungalow number 531. The housekeeping staff comes to clean the bungalow almost twice a day, and he does a great job. The food is spectacular as well, and there is so much varierty even if you are a vegetarian or vegan (like us). The 3 chefs at the restaurant by the ocean make really great and yummy food. They even custom-make dishes for you if you request them. Special thanks to Zareer, Mohamed, Sulaiman, Badol, and all the other servers for providing us with excellent service throughout all our meals at the restaurant. Also, Angee from the salad bar is so quick, friendly, and courteous and always has a smile on her face which we really appreciated. Another special thanks to Yunita and the massage girls at the Chavana Spa for being so friendly and providing great insight into their Balinese culture. I really liked how the massage girls braided my hair during the massage. The resort has an amazing drink selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Special thanks to Rafiqul for making me great drinks, and customizing them to my taste. Rafiqul is so friendly, courteous, and great at customer service! Another shoutout to Sulaiman for coordinating our Sunset Beach dinner and providing us with great vegan and vegetarian meal options. Thanks to Sanath at the tailor shop for being so helpful and always having a smile on his face. The resort has a lot of amazing parties and excursions to participate in as well. We partaked in Dolphin watching and it was amazing. Also wanted to give special thanks to Geena for her amazing customer service and taking the time to share her culture and engaging in thoughtful conversations with us. Overall, all the staff members we encountered during our stay were very friendly, helpful, polite, and demonstrated excellent customer service. I have no complaints about anything!!! I would definitely recommend this resort for couples, families or even solo travelers. On our last day, we ran into the Resort Manager Mr. Sanjeeva Perera and we really appreciated the insightful conversation he had with us. Mr. Perera has done a great job at this resort, and we definitely appreciated how he gave us a gift, along with his business card to stay in touch on our last day. Another highlight of our stay was the beach. The beach is amazing with its blue waters and white sand. The marine life is so fascinating as well. The lifeguard (I forgot his name) is such a great gentleman as well and always smiled at us when passing by. Lastly, when we were going back to the Male airport after check-out, we spotted Dolphins and the boat crew stopped their engine and gave us the opportunity to observe the dolphins- it was mesmerizing. Overall, this resort has great staff, amenities, rooms, beach, and food and I would highly recommend for everyone to come here. All the staff members are so warm and sincere, and everyone went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. We were so sad to leave, but we have already decided to go back next Christmas. We miss you so much Cinnamon Dhonveli Staff and thank you so much to every member at this property for making our first Maldives experience so memorable...

I'm currently at Cinnamon dohnveli with my wife, who is currently having a massage at their spa, so as you'd imagine, i'm sat at the beach bar next door very bored. It is our honeymoon. I'm going to give this resort a 5* star rating as they haven't got an awful lot wrong. They've got a lot right but like every resort i've ever stayed at some things they could do better.||After roughly a 7 hour flight to dubai, a 2&half hour stay over, then a 4 hour flight to Malé we were pretty tired. There was someone waiting as we got off the plane with a cinnamon resorts sign. He took us to where we would get our speed boat from & informed us it would pick us up in 30mins. 50mins later our boat arrived. Thats okay.||It took us around 20 mins to reach our resort on speed boat, i think the boat driver nearly missed our turn into a small harbour as he had to make a hard right pretty quick, i thought the boat was going to roll over. ||Upon arrival we were given a cold cloth & 2 drinks followed by a run down of things available on standard all inclusive in our room mini bar |Which is soft drinks(coke, fanta orange, sprite, tonic & soda water, beer(carlsberg) & water. We were also given a map of the island & told which parts were ok for us to use.||We were in a water bungalow, originally in one really far away from our dining area(Danchini) but asked to be moved closer because my wife has bad knees, they did so happily without arguement.||We was taken to our room on a cart, our suitcases turned up quickly after we arrived. Upon entry we found the room to be quite spacious, big bed, large shower & a jacuzzi bath, the balcony was over looking the sea & there were 2 sun lounges. There are steps down into the sea but we don't use these much as the sea looks quite chopey in this area. A fruit basket turned up for us. In our room there is;|*A iron, hair dryer, air con, tea & coffee facilites, a fridge with drinks, tv, shampoo & shower gel, a bluetooth speaker.|Room service is everyday & they left a happyhoney moon decor on our bed which i thought was lovely.||We checked our map to see where we could get food, i think the maps could do with updating a little personally as there was some confusion as to the names of bars & restraunts, also the opening times(danchini lunch open 12-3pm, didn't open while 12.30pm? Also called a different name on map key).||We went down to dinner, food options were okay, there are 2 counters that will prepeare food fresh(unfortunately they can be very busy & aren't always there when you want them to be), a long self sevice table with about 10 different options & 2 other rooms, desert & salad bar.||Waiters bring drinks to your table which i think i'd rather get my own drink personally as it can slow you down a little, but to be fair they do a great job, very attentive, cant fault the effort.||We tried to eat at the koimala dining area once & was told we were only designated danchini(water bungalow).||After food we took a walk to the shop near sunset bar & the gym. The shop is expensive & very limited it could be better.||Next to the shop is a gym, it looks adverage, does the job barely.||We tried a few cocktails in various bars & honestly feel like they could be better, the standard all inclusive is limited, the local beer is drinkable.||The next day we went to the beach for our free quick massage at the spa. Wow, the beach looks awesome, white sands, clear blue lagoon, getting a deck chair is easy, great stuff, there is a bar. The spa is expensive $175 for 90 min massage for the mrs. $300 for 2 then get one free.||The pool is quiet, we went & there was only one other person there, towels are free, no need to bring your own towel.||All in all, i'm glad i decided to come here on my honeymoon & wouldn't discourage anyone from doing the same, i think they could do a little better on value for...

We booked this trip via TUI. But to be honest, it would be easier and cheap to book flights and the hotel separately since we didn't see one TUI staff member during the whole trip.

We arrived in Malé around midday and eventually found the resort staff. We have them our names and were lead to a pizza restaurant and asked to wait there until other guests arrived. We sat there for 45 minutes and eventually the zraff .ember came back with two other couples and led us to the waiting speed boat. After such long flights, we were pretty exhausted, so this wait really seemed to drag and got us a little worried about how the rest of the experience would be. When we arrived at the resort, the staff sat us down as a group and gave us a luke warm welcome drink. Then proceeded to tell us about the different restaurants and bars which we could and couldn't visit. Which was confusing to say the least. (If you have basic all inclusive and staying in some types of accommodation, you can eat in certain restaurants and only certain drinks and snacks are included).

We were given an upgraded room Beach suite) for the first 4 nights. This meant we could eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in one particular restaurant and if we chose we could reserve to eat in the other buffet restaurant. The beach suites are very nice as you can (obviously)walk straight out onto the beach. The beds are large & comfortable, there's a TV, great air conditioning, a fridge, safety deposit box and plenty of wardrobe/ drawer space for a couple. There is a small sofa/ day bed in the room, a couple of chairs and a small bench in the bathroom area. The bathroom is located outside at the rear of the suite, with a solid wall around it fir privacy. The toilet and double sinks abd shower are under overhangs, so you don't have to worry about the elements. The jacuzzi is open to the elements and has a cover over it. This keeps and debris from overhanging trees from going inside it. Shampoo, bodywash, hand soap, moisturiser, toothbrushes and various other items are provided free of charge. Incidentally, single use plastic is banned from the island. Outside to the front of the property is a decl with another day bed and a couple of sun loungers. Which are under another overhanging roof. There is also a tap/ hose to rinse sand from your feet at the front edge of the deck. For the last 3 days of our 7 night trip, we paid to upgrade to an overwater suite. We were allocated room 703, which is is a great position, close to the allocated restaurant and also close to the beach - but still very private. These suites are huge, kind of split into a bathroom. Bedroom and lounge are. The bathroom has a toilet with frosted glass door for privacy, a separate shower, again with frosted glass door and in the main area of bathroom is a freestanding roll top type bath, which is in front of folding glass doors which open up so that the whole of the sea facing side of the bathroom has a panoramic view of the fantastic scenery. There is then a solid wood door between the bathroom and bedroom. The only down side is that there is no air conditioning in the bathroom, so if the doors are left closed, it can get a little warm. We left the bathroom door open most if the ti.e, to allow the air co diamond air from the bedroom in to cool it down.
