Honest review - I want to re-rate down to a 4 but I gave 5 stars before the last 2 days of my holiday, which somewhat disappointed me considering the wonderful service I received until then. This is a beautiful island... The sea clear and warm, the beaches white and the abundance of flora and fauna makes for a truly magical experience but these things are readily found on all of the holiday islands in the Maldives. Staff were smiley, chatty and above all concerned that you are enjoying your holiday, so much so that it begins to feel a little less genuine every day. I took full advantage of the facilities available other than the pool, (why use a chlorinated pool when the sea is just there!) I visited the spa twice and enjoyed both the salt scrub and the hot stone massage, the spa setting is beautiful and the atmosphere tranquil but it is over priced... I paid approximately double what I would pay for a hot stone massage in the UK once service charges and tax were added, for a treatment which was half as good. The Chinese style massage was sublime, offered in the reflexology room by a supremely capable young woman, it is advertised as a more medicinal treatment as opposed to the relaxation type offered in the spa... Much cheaper and worth more... I tipped in gratitude. The beach villa was clean, the outside shower was amazing... Don't forget the bug repellent... My stay was comfortable and I had everything I needed close to hand. Staff in the restaurant were attentive but not overbearing and the chefs very accommodating to my gluten free requirements... The food was good if a little repetitive. The settings and public areas are beautifully presented and you do feel like you are spoiling yourself just by being there, the atmosphere is relaxed and relaxing. However the same customer care I received from my arrival to the last 24 hrs was not prevalent after 8pm on my last night.... When they stop your credit line and prepare your final bill. Basically you can't spend anymore money after 8pm... You can still use the facilities and your inclusive drinks allowance doesn't stop until you physically leave but other than cash tips (no bars / shops accept payments cash or card) your spending days are done. I had a very early 7am seaplane, which meant luggage collection at 5:45 from my villa and key hand in at reception at 6:15. At 5:35 (despite being told not to put bag out before 5:45, because it might rain) the porters knock on my door for the case.... I'm in my nightie... They leave, I attempt a shower... Housekeeping boy knocks on the door at 5:50 (to check what time my check out is).... I make it to reception at 6:12.... And then sit in the lobby until 6:50.... Maybe if I was catching a later seaplane my experience would have been different... But the impression of not only being pressured to rush and the expectation that I would do as I was told and attend breakfast at 5:45... But the pressure also to tip - which I was planning on doing anyway, was rude and did nothing but made me feel inconvenient and unwelcome. It also made me realise quite how corporate the whole thing felt, from the identical responses and questions to the then reading the other reviews on here and seeing they are mostly written by 'local guides' - draw from that what you will, I appreciate at the end if the day the whole island is a business and everyone there an employee, however surely the point of very expensive luxury destination holidays is that you should feel like an old friend/honoured guest and not like you are paying for it...? The Maldives are beautiful and I will go back... But I might try a different style of...

This was a real treat. The Prestige Water Villas are the top of the range rooms in this resort, and it really shows. Private beach, private restaurant, private pool and a personal butler - what's not to like? Although don't get the impression it's absurdly expensive, it isn't, certainly not by Maldives resort standards. You could easily spend four times as much or even more on overwater rooms. The villas are semi-detached with a little bit of noise breakthrough if you have very inconsiderate neighbours, though I would expect the management would sort that out pretty rapidly if you were unfortunate enough to have that experience. However, there is total privacy and the jacuzzi-equipped deck is not overlooked at all, except possibly by any fish looking through the glass panel in the floor! There are steps directly into the sea, which was full of nearby fish to gawp at when we went. Rooms are very comfortable without being ultra-luxurious, and have everything you might want including a Bluetooth speaker, a small minibar, sofa, large TV (which we didn’t use at all), unlimited drinking water, and an incredibly comfortable 6ft bed. Nice luxurious bathroom and shower as well, with free snorkelling equipment and lifejackets provided. The restaurant was very fine, with a beautiful deck to eat on and an airconditioned restaurant area and bar if you wanted to stay out of the sun. Our AI package included all the other restaurants in the resort as well, but we mainly used the water villa one as it provided full waiter service instead of buffet options. The menu changes every day, and there is a full vegetarian menu as well. The water villa pool was gorgeous, nice and secluded, quiet, and with a telephone to order unlimited drinks. Also unlimited were the clean dry towels and there was never any pressure on sunbeds or shade when we were there. The resort was ideal for us - about 450 guests in total (a maximum of 40 in the water villas) but you'd never know it. It’s beautifully maintained and tidy, with loads of quiet and secluded areas, not too many kids running around, plenty to do, and a lot of excursions and experiences to be had if you fancied spending more money. Lots of good watersports facilities and a large (and expensive) spa as well. It felt like an ideal combination of having enough people to justify a lot of facilities, but not so many that it appeared in any way crowded. And lastly, a word for Addhu our private butler. Like all the Maldivians we met, he was softly-spoken, completely charming, and seemed genuinely concerned to make our experience as happy and relaxed as possible. Efficient, responsive, and always on time, he removed any concerns from day one, and made it very easy to simply relax into the paradisical experience. In fact all the staff, whether they were waiting staff, maintenance people or in other roles, seem to share this ethos, with everyone sparing the time to say hello, and smile, and be as helpful as they can be. If you want a resort with good facilities, excellent food, loads of peace and quiet, and a really friendly vibe, but without paying earth-shattering prices, we would recommend the Prestige Water Villas...

We were guests on Meedhupparu in August 2025. We upgraded from a whirlpool bungalow (108) to a watervilla (804) for four nights. The private area with its lobby, garden, beach, restaurants and pool was quiet and you have a lot of personal space. The room itself had good space and marine-feeling wooden interior. The bed was nice and the bathroom was, too. There was a huge TV, a Marshal speaker with bluetooth, a couch, espresso machine, minibar, an iced bottle of sparkling wine paired with fruits and pralines. We had a whirlpool, a big couch and direct access to the riff via a ladder on the terrace. We used to watch the sunrise early morning and went for longer snorkeling trips with friends and their families from there. Although our butler asked us many times we simply forgot to mention that the handrail on the ladder to the riff needed some repair. But over all the room was really great, super clean, silent and mostly anonymos/private. The biggest plus was all the personal, especially our butler Nirdosh (@Nirdosh: thank you a lot again for all yourn effort and making this holiday special! Our daughter begs us to come back.). There was so much offered with a water villa and our butler that we, under our circumstances, didn't even use and cannot judge. We were on family vacation. Our little one met other kids, and in our first room we all were close neighbours (108 + 109). So of course the kids wanted to be together all day and so we missed to even use the canapes, breakfast at the room, private pool, beach, wine and spirits collection or cocktail bar. And we only had breakfast and fine dining 2 times each. So let me talk about what we can actually judge: breakfast and fine dining were in the same location, the private restaurant on the water. The inner tables were air conditioned, the ones outside set up in the shade of roof with perfect view on the ocean. The waitresses and waiters were really good, they pushed your chair, helped you with the napkin, and they did all the stuff like asking how you drink your water. With ice, lime, lemons etc.? The food was really good, the arragement was delicious, the cocktails great. The small appetizers between courses were great. Eg. I had a lamb shank and the bone came out with two fingers and a slight pull, so it was perfectly cooked. Could have eaten it without teeth, it was so tender. We sticked to 3 instead of 4 courses and skipped one, it was already enough. They had a kids menue, too. There is absolutely nothing to criticize on the restaurant and its great personal. Just for our circumstances it took a long time and our 8 year old wasn't to pleased with us eating so long while her friends were waiting. A big compliment again towards all the personal we met, even very early in the morning when we needed to catch the water plane with sunrise we had our luggage fetched and a super early complete breakfast a la card.||In summary, what made trip so worth it and makes us thinking of coming back: the unforgettable nature and the personal on the whole island, from staff, butler Nirdoish, all the waiters, barkeepers to the landscapers and...

A dream holiday!!! We were on holiday as a family of 4 (2 children 11 & 9) and the holiday went above and beyond all our expectations. We started the first week in a jacuzzi beach villa which was lovely and took us straight onto the beautiful beach! The room was cleaned twice a day and the mini bar and towels refreshed. We enjoyed the food in the main restaurant and cafe mass in the first week and drinks from all the bars. The food was plentiful and always to a high standard with lots of choice for all of us (including our fussy 9 year old) we all had a favourite chef in the main restaurant named Riaeg who brightened the girls days every time they saw him!! He was great with them and always happy to talk and welcome us with a lovely smile. The girls both used the kids club and had a great time with Tashini every time they went in. She was kind and helpful and made the activities super fun for the girls! We also used the water sports, kayaking was great fun. We went out on jet skis to snorkel with the manta rays which is an experience we will never forgot. Highly recommend doing this. The staff at the water sports centre were great, especially when my daughter dropped her flipper off the pier and they had to swim down and face a giant moray eel to get it for her! On the second week we were very lucky to take the option of an upgrade to the water villas. This was absolutely incredible and I would definitely recommend. We had the most amazing experience being collected from our beach villa by Niyaz our butler who took us to the water villas and showed us around. Niyaz was excellent and always on hand if we needed anything. The water villas come with a private pool, private beach and water villa restaurant. The pool was beautiful and had a phone to order drinks to be delivered to your sun lounger, the beach was always quiet and absolutely stunning. We frequently spotted sharks/rays and herons in this area. The snorkelling was amazing on the house reef and we had been out everyday as a family but to be able to go straight from our water villa was incredible. So many beautiful fish to see as well as turtles, sharks and rays. The water villa restaurant was absolutely stunning and thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast and dinner there every night. The food was to a very high standard and always delicious We had the most amazing waiter in Nuaim. Nuaim took the time to get to know us as a family and was able to tell us so much about the Maldives. He welcomed us with a smile at every meal time and we all looked forward to seeing him each day! He is a credit to the island!!! I could still go on and on!!!! What a holiday!!! We hope one day to be able to return!

This review is from our stay at Adaaran Prestige Water Villas a few years ago. Due to injuries at that time, writing a review didn’t cross our minds until now. I'm torn between giving this hotel 4 or 5 stars. The location was excellent, the service was great, and the room was fantastic—the three categories I typically consider when reviewing a hotel on Google. However, the food was a bit boring for an all-inclusive stay that costs almost $1,000 a night. When you factor in the $350 per person for the water airplane and airfares to get to the Maldives, the total cost was closer to $1,500 per night. The limited dining options made this feel less worth it. Guests staying in the water villa suites could either dine at a single restaurant or join the buffet, which is open to all room categories. By the third night, I was running out of meal choices. I understand that the remote location of the island from the mainland might pose logistical challenges, so maintaining multiple cuisine options for about 50 guests could be inefficient. Each room has its own 'butler' who can be called at any time for anything—whether it's breakfast, snorkel gear, ice cream, or other needs—and they typically show up within 5 to 10 minutes. Breakfast can be delivered to your room, allowing us to eat in bed (the one outside the deck) while enjoying a fantastic view of the ocean. Snorkel gear is also just a phone call away, but we didn’t enjoy it as much due to the injuries we had prior to the trip. Renting a jet ski and circling the two islands was a great experience, though. The view from the water villas is unbeatable; it feels like you’re in a home in the middle of the ocean with an unobstructed view. During my brief snorkeling time, I saw various colorful fish species. There's also a tea time in the afternoon and an ice cream hour afterward. Guests in the water villas have a separate restaurant that offers a full 5-course meal instead of the buffet available to other room categories. Dining at this restaurant was a great experience, with tables set up next to the ocean, providing an unparalleled view. However, as I mentioned earlier, the food choices were repetitive. Overall, it was a great stay, despite the limited food choices. The unique setting and the excellent service made up for the monotony in the food offerings. However, if you're used to all-inclusive in-land resorts with a wide variety of dining options, like those in Cancun, you might find this a bit lacking in that aspect. However, if you're looking for a secluded and quiet place to detach from the world and enjoy the natural beauty, this would be the perfect spot.
