I recently spent two nights at the Hyatt Regency Malta, and it turned out to be the perfect combination of modern luxury, comfort, and an ideal location. Situated in St. Julian’s, the hotel provided us with easy access to the vibrant heart of Malta while offering a peaceful retreat to relax.||||Check-In & First Impressions (5/5)||From the moment we arrived, the service at the Hyatt Regency was impeccable. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, with the staff greeting us warmly. The hotel’s lobby is sleek and modern, featuring a stylish design with warm tones and elegant lighting that immediately gave us a sense of calm and luxury.||||We were pleasantly surprised to learn that we had been upgraded to a Regency Club room, which gave us access to the club lounge—a nice touch that added to the overall experience.||||Room (5/5)||Our Regency Club Room was beautifully designed, with a focus on both comfort and functionality. The room was spacious, featuring a large, comfortable king-sized bed, a smart TV, and modern furnishings in neutral tones. The floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light and offered a partial view of the city, which was lovely to wake up to.||||The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a walk-in rain shower, a large vanity, and luxurious toiletries. The room also included thoughtful touches like a Nespresso machine and complimentary bottled water. We found it to be the perfect blend of luxury and practicality for a short stay.||||Dining (4.5/5)||We had breakfast included in our stay, which was served at the hotel’s Seed Restaurant. The breakfast spread was extensive, offering a mix of fresh fruits, pastries, cereals, and hot dishes such as eggs, bacon, and Maltese specialties. The highlight for us was the option to have eggs cooked to order, and the quality of the food was consistently high. The restaurant’s sleek, open design and outdoor seating made for a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere to start the day.||||As Regency Club guests, we also had access to the Club Lounge, which provided complimentary snacks, tea, coffee, and evening canapés with drinks. ||||Facilities (5/5)||One of the standout features of Hyatt Malta is its rooftop pool. The pool area is sleek and stylish, offering panoramic views of St. Julian’s and the surrounding areas. It was a great place to relax during the day, with comfortable lounge chairs and a calm atmosphere. We found it to be the perfect retreat after a day of exploring the island.||||There’s also a spa and fitness center at the hotel, but we didn’t have the chance to use the spa facilities during our short stay. However, we did take a quick visit to the gym, and it was well-equipped with modern machines and had a good variety of equipment for a hotel gym.||||Location (5/5)||The Hyatt Regency’s location is ideal, especially for first-time visitors to Malta. It’s situated in the heart of St. Julian’s, within walking distance to the bustling Paceville area, known for its nightlife, as well as the quieter Spinola Bay with its beautiful waterfront. Despite being in a busy area, the hotel itself felt like a peaceful retreat, which was exactly what we were looking for.||||We also found it easy to get around the island from the hotel and used BOLT taxis to do so. ||||Service (5/5)||The service at the Hyatt Regency Malta was top-notch throughout our stay. From the friendly staff at reception to the helpful concierge and attentive restaurant team, we felt well taken care of. The team was proactive in ensuring we had everything we needed, and they went out of their way to offer suggestions on where to go and what to do during our visit.||||Value for Money (4.5/5)||For a luxury hotel in such a prime location, the Hyatt Regency Malta offers excellent value for money. The combination of high-quality facilities, comfortable rooms, and excellent service made it worth the cost. Access to the Regency Club also enhanced our stay, offering extra perks that made the experience feel even more luxurious.||||Final Thoughts||Our two-night stay at Hyatt Regency Malta was the perfect couple’s getaway. The modern design, excellent location, and high level of service made it a memorable experience. Whether you’re looking to relax by the rooftop pool, explore Malta’s vibrant culture, or indulge in great food, this hotel offers it all. We would highly recommend Hyatt Malta for anyone seeking a luxurious, well-rounded stay in the heart of...
Read moreIt’s been an interesting stay, from the warm welcome received when we stepped in slightly overwhelmed by the distance from the car park to the reception (following the signage from the basement carpark through another nearby hotel where the staff gave further directions through a nearby mall before reaching the striking Hyatt building set back behind a large paved area and a beautiful small church with the dominant mediterranean architectural character seen locally), where a friendly reception check-in staff warmly greeted us!
She also introduced us to the concierge Victor who likewise warmly welcomed us and assured us he would personally go back with me to get our luggage and proceeded to show me another route which took barely a ride down a nearby lift straight to where we had parked, possible only after guest check-in!
The front desk kindly offered to keep our luggage because we had arrived early and our room was not yet prepared however they did assure us that everything would be done to ensure to get the room ready quickly and I would get a call as soon as it was ready. The call came withing an hour which was still about two hours before normal check-in. This was greatly appreciated and thanks to all the staff who made this possible!
The exterior design of the hotel is attractive and probably the best design in what is obviously a mash up of designs surrounding that take away from the beautiful character of old Malta and offer frankly a confused skyline! The Hyatt Regency on the other hand elegantly stands apart and while modern does blend pleasantly with the nearby older buildings.
The interior design of the hotel is very good and it is very tastefully furnished. The hallways are warm and somewhat cosy.
The room I was checked into was clean, very nicely prepared and Victor had our luggage already brought up and tidily placed in the room waiting for us. See attached photos. Thanks Victor, much appreciated!
The lighting controls are well placed, and the character of the room is modern, light and yet has a warmness to it. I can compare it to a similar room in a five star Hilton or Marriott.
Overall, the staff in the Hotel are very helpful and friendly. I without any hesitation give them a 5/5 rating …. well done team Hyatt (Malta)! I always was approached with a genuine smile and responded to politely and in a warm manner.
The only let down so far has been the breakfast. Located in the popular Seed restaurant, which is very nicely designed, light, airy and spacious, the food was not at the standard I am used to from four and five star hotels! This has been unfortunate because once again the restaurant customer facing staff are amazing. I must mention a few who went above and beyond to ensure we were treated courteously, efficiently and just amazingly! From Lerna, the Host, to Ruth, Shubham, Shalina, and Hannah, we were taken care of with first class service. They deserve to be acknowledged because from the moment I stepped in the restaurant, I genuinely was treated attentively yet given the necessary space and one of them was always close by to attend to our needs. Great service guys!
The food on the other hand was a let down for a hotel of this calibre and rating. I doubt if corporate Hyatt has audited the breakfast service otherwise I am certain they would not be pleased. Ordering a spicy vegetable omelette, it arrived over-cooked! The filling was also simply placed inside and not cooked with the eggs. The omelette had no lift and was not fluffy at all. The edges were brown all over having been over-cooked. Even though I pointed out the problem very politely to a server who passed it on to the chef (he confirmed this), I was pleasantly surprised not to get an apology from the chef or any offer to replace it based on my feedback. This is NOT acceptable in any decent restaurant.
Hoping the rest of the breakfast would be better, I tried some sausages. The chicken sausages were okay (nothing spectacular) however the cumbrian sausages were over-cooked, cold and had a...

My partner and I recently stayed at the Hyatt Centric Malta in early February, and we cannot recommend this hotel enough. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the exceptional service, modern amenities, and thoughtful touches that made our stay unforgettable.
The Staff: A True Highlight Without a doubt, the standout feature of this hotel is its staff. Every team member we encountered was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. Their warmth and professionalism made us look forward to interacting with them each day. Whether it was the front desk, restaurant staff, or housekeeping, everyone went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home.
Thoughtful Room Arrangement We have a slight fear of heights, and the front desk was more than happy to accommodate our request for a room on a lower floor. This level of attentiveness and care was much appreciated and set the tone for the rest of our stay.
Local Expertise and Guidance The front desk team was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to provide us with detailed advice on how to get to and from Valletta with ease. They also explained what to expect when taking the ferry to Gozo, including payment methods, which helped us arrive prepared and stress-free. Additionally, when I asked for a suggested running route, they were happy to provide recommendations tailored to my preferences. It’s clear they take pride in helping guests make the most of their stay.
Excellent Facilities The gym was a pleasant surprise – spacious, modern, and well-equipped with both weights and cardio machines. It was a joy to work out there. We also loved the restaurant, which had a great ambiance. The space was open, comfortable, and even offered the option to dine al fresco, which we took advantage of despite the cooler February weather.
Breakfast That Exceeded Expectations The breakfast spread was truly impressive. There was something for everyone, from fully cooked options to continental choices, and even unique items like beans, couscous, nuts, and delicious potatoes. The fresh juices, sparkling wine, and excellent coffee were the perfect way to start our days. If you have the option to include breakfast with your stay, it’s an absolute no-brainer.
Dinner and bar worth a visit We had snacks at the bar and they were excellent quality and value. You really couldn't ask for better food, very sophisticated. Jithin was a fantastic barman. His cocktails were made with knowledge and passion and he was happy to make a recommendation to suit your taste. He also suggested lovely wine.
Comfortable and Stylish Room Our room was spacious, modern, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was large and cozy, ensuring we slept soundly every night. We particularly loved the open-plan bathroom design, which added a touch of luxury to the space. The shower was fantastic, with excellent water pressure, and the soft, subtle mood lighting around the room created a relaxing atmosphere.
Convenient Parking The free parking garage was a huge bonus. It was easy to use, hassle-free, and added an extra layer of convenience to our stay.
Final Thoughts Our stay at the Hyatt Centric Malta was nothing short of perfect. The combination of exceptional service, modern amenities, and thoughtful touches made it a truly memorable experience. Whether you’re visiting for a romantic getaway or exploring Malta’s beauty, this hotel is an excellent choice. We can’t wait to...
