We booked the penthouse room to have a terrace where one can enjoy the view with a cup of tea or a glass of wine Unfortunately the terrace has a very high wall and once you sit down the view succumbs to a horrendous wall. ||||We had issues with the tv as it kept going out of the programm and we couldn’t watch anything. We do call and fair enough a very polite lady came to check the issue, she couldn’t at first and after 15 odd minutes she managed although she told us it could be a faulty box. After she left the same thing happened , we didn’t call again as she had to come back from another town and as we were there just for a day we opted not to. ||||When we returned after a lovely and enjoyable dinner at the Rendezvous restaurant and went to sleep we noticed that 3 flood lights were left on all night and light was coming in the room as the curtains rail was around 10cm away from the wall. As I am a light sleeper I couldn’t sleep at all. ||Anyway in the morning we went down to a most enjoyable breakfast and went to pay for the night we spent . I never complained but I did tell the receptionist about the tv problem and I mentioned it so the next person won’t have the same issues. ||||I sent an email pin pointing the issues we had , I never asked either for a discount or my money back. All I did raise the issues as they were easy to solve , and if they did they wouldn’t have to face unhappy clients. Well well all hell broke lose as all excuses under the sun came poring down, such as the floodlights have been put up just three weeks ago….. the horrendous wall is what it is and nothing can do about it as it’s an old wall … ||||Then a phone came and I was told I was imagining things by this fine lady on the other side of the phone, now that’s customer care at it’s best . If she had the time to notice that i wasn’t asking for any money back then she wouldn’t have been so offensive and so defensive. ||||Sorry Quant but the issues are easily tend to ||||The terrace should have an elevated area where one can sit and enjoy the weather and the views and the light from the flood lights can easily be solved by fixing the curtain further closer to the wall . This will prevent the amount of...
Read moreStaff excellent - informative & friendly - we were upgraded to a balcony studio room overlooking village square & right next to church (possibly helped by fact our friend live in Xwekija). No noise from village or church bells disturbed our sleep. One downside was the rain which soaked the lounger seats . Not noticeable until you sat on them & got rather wet (we learned to bring them inside to prevent reoccurrence). ||Room cleaned daily & existing covid rules were followed. Sheets, towels changed as requested. Comfy bed. Wish there had been a notice on the jacuzzi bath informing us of their closing off of shower spray (apparently previous guests had been leaving it switched on) to prevent flooding of floor below. ||Was surprised that we weren’t regularly provided with drinking water although tea/coffee facilities provided. When I asked about the water we were given some more though told it wasn’t policy.||Breakfast provided in restaurant next door. Tasty but enormous portions unless you were more specific in your order (which could do). ||Bus service to other parts of island (including the ‘tourist bus) at side of hotel - outside church. Could get equivalent of our day rider system which could also use on ferry if within time limits (could also get weekly pass).|Would go there again or try one of the other Quaint hotels...
Read moreStayed at this hotel for a week and couldn’t fault it, the rooms were spotless. Every morning when we went down for breakfast by the time when cam back to our room it had been serviced. The effort of the staff was brilliant, due to unforeseen circumstances my wife couldn’t go so I went with my mate. When we got to the room there was only a double bed. We called the number shown on the door and asked if we could have a camp bed in the room, within half an hour the problem was resolved with no dramas and a very helpful and friendly member of staff. There is no staff at the hotel except in the mornings. So when we arrived in the afternoon we had to call the help number and as I said a member of staff was there to fix our problem. |The breakfast at the restaurant downstairs was great with plenty to choose from, but I would highly recommend the poached eggs they were to die for. |Once again a very relaxing stay and I’m looking forward to going back a very peaceful location and close to local...
