After reading all the positive reviews and seeing all the beautiful pictures on different platforms in the internet, we were sure to have booked a real gem.||Once we got there that impression changed forever.||Someone opened the door that appeared to be another guest. She didn’t waste a word of welcome or greeting and directed us trough a dark reception to a small back office. We checked in realizing that she was the receptionist.||Once we got to the room, she opened the door to a family room. The first and lasting impression was a stingy smell like a big wet dog. After opening the windows to a trashy neighbor lot, we looked around in the room. ||We still found the same originating resemblance of the internet pictures but time and lack of care and maintenance left us with mildew stained lamp-shades said smell, no access to the safety deposit box (other tenants had lost not only the key to this rooms safety deposit box, but also to the next to room’s boxes).||The bathroom was tiny, two fixtures of a two hooks of some sort were torn down laying in the window sill.||After closing one of the windows it didn’t open again and the A/C didn’t work properly.||Because the receptionist on site is not able to make decisions, we had to wait for a phone call of the owner on Réunion island to grant our wish for a change of rooms.||||We were then confronted with our first downgrade offer (ever received in any hotel with, of course, same room rate).||||Unfortunately for two of the next to rooms there were no matching safety deposit box keys either, one room key didn’t match its room, so it remains a mystery whether that one would have been better. ||||For the common areas, the pool hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, as the common kitchen, in the billiard and other rooms stuff was laying around, a picture was laying on the floor rather than hanging on the wall, the rooms toilet was not very clean.||||We cannot possibly list everything wrong with this place, simply seems to be abandoned.||||Having seen enough we had to argue for a long time to get a refund and try to find a hotel in the...
Read moreIt’s not a very good place to stay at. Very musty and outdated and it seems as if it doubles as a residency.
There’s a look and feel of a dungeon as you enter in the reception and then even more so as you are taken to your room in silence. Security is that of a jail and one wonders why they have to go to such lengths.
The room itself is alright in a functional way but seems to be more depressing that anything.
If you’re looking for a place to just lay your head and are on a tight budget then stay here. But if you’re looking to stay as part of your extended holiday plans then I suggest giving this one a miss.
If they give this place a bit more love and care and light and get rid of that smell then it could be a decent budget...
