MY HONEST REVIEW: Feb 4-7th 2020
I booked a few nights here and was treated very well. The owner was extremely helpful and went out of the way to make sure I had what I needed (transport to and from the hotel etc..). What I liked most was the owner's honesty about construction and the area...which--indeed--is a working class area...I took time to explore ( I WALKED) the neighborhood from the main street(Calle Carlos Salinas) and a side street (Calle Lazaro Cardenas). Though the area may look rough...I was GREETED by the local people with smiles and hola...I DID NOT feel unsafe in anyway. I see from the other reviews that it was hard to get to the hotel via driving...yes, this would be true because the hotel is set back from the road BEHIND a second-hand clothing store and car wash. However, there is a tall sign posted with the hotel's name in full view. And, this can be missed if you are navigating the location for the first time.
If you walk Calle Carlos Salinas...you will be able to catch ADO buses, local city buses, and rickshaw drivers (only serve the local puebla) from corner( just watch what locals do/ask)...you will have access to local food and stores that sell things for your basic needs..there is a young man selling rotisserie chicken meals (includes: chicken, veggies, rice, and salsa for various prices...) I chose 1/4 meal for 35 MXN--the food lasted me until next day...it was great! If you walk or drive all the way down this road you will come to the intersection (De Los Colegios)... at that junction you will be facing more modern eateries and ice cream shop... OR If you take the side road Calle Lazaro walk (I walked through soccer field) or drive...go all the way to the end then turn right walk down a ways.. you will come up to intersection of Calle Luis Echeverria Alvarez...there is a plethora of eateries street vendors, ice cream shops, and souvenir shops to your hearts content. If you follow the road you will be on a main road Alfredo V. Bonfil and there you can catch all the transport to and from hotel zone, downtown Cancun etc...also, across that main street is a market filled with local vendors selling food etc...YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG...one comment I made to the owner was this...I like the way the hotel is situated--meaning though there is not much space to the property...HOWEVER, that was good for me because it made me get out more often to explore rather than stay inside my room...another added bonus is that the property sits next to soccer field...one could quite easily walk over to get their exercise for the day if need be.
I know for some a working class area may not be your location of choice...however I found this area to be extremely convenient to everything I desired to do on such a short visit and budget. It is always imperative to take into consideration what you desire for you...in retrospect my room was clean, toiletries were provided, coffee, sugar, salt, dishes, small stove, utensils, dishwater liquid, convenience etc. and ALL worked well for me.
Finally, this is important to note...if you are an international traveler from Europe...your SIM card for PROXIMUS WILL WORK HERE...Make sure you put the Proximus App on your phone...it will pick up the MoviStar network and I'm sure Orange will too...I could not use my TING/SPRINT or FLOW SIM for Mexico...hope that helps someone;o) Cheers and Happy travels to you...

It is actually behind a car wash in a back alley. (see pics).||4) - the security of the rooms is poor.||||The Bad:||1) The room was not clean - it was cleaned but was certainly less than sanitary||2) The beds were the worst we have ever slept on, with thin mattresses and old bedding.||3) The garden view???? see pics.||4) BUGS!!!! - we left a package of cookies open on the kitchen counter for just a few minutes and they were overrun with ants! We have video of this but could not upload the video.||5) - in the middle of nowhere. We tried to walk to a location for dinner. Just too far. Even a TukTuk ride took 20 minutes to get to anyplace to eat.||||We only booked here as it was for one night and the cost savings on the airport shuttle made the decision easy. ||||While it was an adventure, it is not one we...
Read moreSave your money and run. I have seen homeless shelters that are better ran than this hotel.
When I first arrived they gave me a room that wasn’t cleaned and had food and garbage everywhere. When I went to get a different room they had me wait 40 minutes and sent me to a room with two beds. Upon discovering there are two bed they had me wait while they clean another room for another 30 minutes. When I arrived to the final room I noticed it had two beds as well. Upon inspecting the room I discovered that the king size bed was broken and had dirty sheets that have not been changed. I then slept on the other bed for the night. I also discovered a line of ants from the bathroom to the window. The bathroom toilet seat was also broken. I also seen them drying hotel towels and sheets outside in the backyard. I didn’t complain because it was only one night for my layover. Upon leaving and arriving back in the states I received a message from the hotel saying that I broke the bed. When I was explaining to them that it wasn’t me who broke the bed they kept on accusing me and calling me a liar. They also said threatened me civil litigation. This hotel should closed down for trying to scam its customers. It was very dirty and the staff are very rude. If this hotel is a last resort, I suggest you...
