We stayed at the Costa del Sol hotel during a seven day motocross tour from Los Cabos to Ensenada with Go Baja Riding. We had an exhausting day of riding, making it across the peninsula twice in one day, so pulling into Bay of LA was a welcome stop. As soon as our group got into Costa del Sol, the staff brought cold beers and guacamole out to the tables as they put all of our bags into the room. The hotel's resident dog, Scooby, is a massive great dane, and he walks around like he owns the place. There is WiFi in the main lobby, but it starts to taper off as you move away so if you are able, request a room as close to the lobby as possible. The room we stayed in did not have air conditioning, but the cold air off the Sea of Cortez cooled the room down as the sun set. We had a fantastic dinner out in the garden where the service was top notch and the food quality was very impressive. The hotel is located on the other side of the main street in Bay of LA, and has fantastic views of the bay and the mountains around it. They had coffee ready for us at 6am and a wonderful breakfast at the bar at around 7am. Great hotel if you are doing a bike tour, met several other riders from the United States and Canada, and nobody raises an eye when you start up in...
Read moreThe staff here are excellent. They speak a little English and my Spanish is not great, but they are patient and attentive. While they are adding on to the motel they are attempting to keep up maintenance. The property is clean and well cared for. But what really surprised us was in our second visit as we going north we stopped again. My credit card worked to purchase gas. And on my first visit to the motel I paid visit cars. But this time after 3 different attempts at 2 different times of day my card would not work to pay for our room. So I paid in cash and said I was not happy as it left me cash short until I get to my next town. Victoria the owner was very apologize. Knowing we were short on cash she gave us a discount on the breakfast, enough that we would not go up the road broke or hungry. And when I only ordered toast she told the girl to prepare me eggs and beans too. That is a gift of hospitality! Victoria you are a gem amongst owners and do your...
Read moreMy wife and I shared a room here with another couple and we had no issues at all. The room is large enough for 3 big and one small cooler, all out fishing gear and luggage. Its simple with two queen beds, tile floors, a table, small dresser and a shower in the bathroom. We came here for a weekend fishing trip and asked the hotel cook to prepare our catch. Let me tell you, this was the best meal I've had since I've been in this area. They cooked up some clams and grouper that we caught that day and added cauliflower soup, rice, beans, tortillas and salad all for 400 pesos (approx $20 U.S.)! If you are in the area for a fishing trip, I recommend this place! And don't be afraid to ask them to...
