Modern hotel with decent sized rooms, great views and modern bathroom. Lots of balconies to see the views of the city during the day or night but are restricted to all guests which was a bummer. Very nice open balcony on the 5th floor with a lot of seating, places to sit down and talk or just hangout. Gym is very modern and has sufficient equipment with getting a good workout in if needed.
Rooms:
Overall I felt the rooms were quite modern and upscale but for a Courtyard and the price I expected more. Very surprised to have a mini fridge and safe in the room. Bed was very comfy and lighting was excellent.
Service:
Being a Marriott member was a huge plus on this stay. Checked In a day before through the app and advised I would be there 3 hours before normal check-in but actually arrived 2 hours before with no issue or early check-in charge. I also requested a high room on the top floor, extra towels, wash clothes and foam pillows which were all fulfilled by the hotel. Only issue I had was the digital key which I requested a day before my stay but wasn’t processed until 2 hours from checkout which did absolutely nothing for me.
Location:
Overall location is good but not exactly within walking distance of a lot of things as Mexicali is a hot place during the summer and walking in the heat can get brutal. Within 5 - 10 minutes driving distance, there is a lot of good places to eat, drink or shop at. The courtyard is location in what’s known as the rich part of Mexicali.
Atmosphere:
Lobby and reception are very small. Was advised breakfast was not included with the price of my stay which was also a shock as breakfast was $18 USD on top of what I already paid for the hotel. The overall feel walking into the hotel did not feel like a Marriott but more like a half ass put...

Front Desk: I visited twice and didn't feel welcomed on both stay. The reception was similar to entering any other inn, lacking the distinctive hospitality found in other Marriott brands.
F&B: I tried restaurant on the 1st floor, where I had two pizzas and chicken. The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. .
Room & Housekeeping: During my first visit, I likely stayed on the 4th floor. The shower drainage was poor, and the layout of the shower booth was very inconvenient. The TV was positioned for viewing from the sofa, making it difficult to watch from the bed. However, the bedding was fitting for Courtyard and the interior was well-maintained. On my second visit, I stayed on a higher floor, in an Elite member floor, where coffee and water were provided near the elevator, which was a nice touch. Unlike the last stay, the drainage in the bathroom was good, and the layout of the shower booth was convenient. Additionally, the fruit/ham/chocolate plate provided to Titanium members was very thoughtful.
Facility: The highlight of this hotel is the terrace on the 5th floor. Unfortunately, there's no swimming pool, but the spacious and comfortable 5th-floor terrace is elegantly maintained for the convenience of guests. Personally, this is my favorite spot in the hotel. The gym is spacious and well-maintained, with essential equipment and a clean, expansive layout.
Overall: This hotel lacks benefits beyond Marriott Platinum status, with no complimentary breakfast offered. While it boasts Marriott branding with Courtyard hardware, the benefits for Marriott members felt very limited. Additionally, if Front Desk staff were more welcoming, it would greatly enhance the...
Read moreI would not recommend it at all. Find another place to stay. I booked and paid for a suite months in advance and even left a message stating that we would be arriving late in the evening and to not give our room away. What did they do? Gave my room away! Made up some lame story and said they can put us in a standard room a couple of $10 vouchers and late check out. Gave no apology, just this is what we can give you. Completely unprofessional! Turns out they bumped us because they got three bus loads of tourist coming through and gave them our room. The room we got was small and incomplete. Missing night stands, so nowhere to put phones to charge. There was no clock, and the TV would keep turning off. Water pressure from the shower was non-existent, and the toilet seat was loose. About the only good thing of the room was the bed and it was clean. So kudos to the cleaning staff. As for the little restaurant. I walk in at 1PM and it was empty and no one wanted to come over and take our order. I could literally see them arguing on who would come over. The girl was rude and obviously looked like we had inconvenienced her from using her phone that kept getting messages. Don't get me started on how long it took to get my food that was served cold got my wife sick. So whatever you do ....
