Villa Gracia, Valle de Guadalupe — Hotel in Baja California

NO NO NO! Avoid at ALL COSTS. I cannot begin to describe how much I hated my weekend at this villa.

Let's start with getting there. You need to drive up a very, very dangerous unpaved road for about 15 minutes. The entire time, you will think your wheels are about to fall off. It's so bad that my entire crew did not want to leave because it meant driving down and back up. It was that bad, and if you care about your car, you would not put it through this road. There's a high chance it becomes damaged.

Next, the rooms. We had 5 of them, one of which was fine. The others all had issues. They either stayed at around 80 degrees, smelled rancid, or both. 2 of us decided to sleep outside because the smell was that unbearable. It's not a smell you get used to. The rooms are within 15 feet of a sewer and the entire downstairs area is overpowered by the stench. Not to mention the rooms were maybe 150 square feet in total. Cherry on top is that we each found 2-3 spiders in there every night.

We asked to have these issues addressed, and nothing changed

TLDR: $2,000/night for a steamy 150 square foot room with a persistent foul stench. Truth be told, I would not stay here for free, nor would I stay...

I have never booked a hotel with only 4 reviews, but decided to take the chance. Villa Gracia was absolutely stunning and I am so happy I didn't let the amount of reviews stop me. This place is a hidden gem. The staff is a husband and wife duo who were so sweet and helped with anything we needed. They were a pleasure. The property itself is incredible. The architecture and design really are something else. We stayed in both a regular suite and the master. The regular suite is a bit on the small side, but very nice.
