Hotel Casa de Pakal — Hotel in Chiapas

We rented a room for one night for $300 just wanting a hot shower like they promised us and a sleep. First of all our room had a big A/C installed where supposed to be our very small window, so the room was very dark and damp and later we realized some mold too, and the only thing we wanted hot shower- our shower appears to be broken. It had broken shower handles and NO hot water or dripping cold only. The lady who sold the room to us was very unhelpful and knew it but sold the room to us anyway and after didn't wanted to do nothing about it. We arrived Palenque without researching hotels and stayed here based on a recommendation from a tour guide. ||||The room and bathroom were clean, the air conditioning worked well. We stayed in one of the bedrooms up front with a balcony. We paid ~$35 USD for 1 night. ||||Some feedback: the bed was not very comfortable and a darkening liner should be added to the curtain on the balcony sliding glass door. The hotel is on a busy street and there is a lot of light coming in at night from the sliding glass door.||||We were happy to have a clean bathroom and a clean room. Das Hotel liegt direkt an der Hauptstrasse kurz vor dem Marktplatz an der Kirche. Es gibt Zimmer nach hinten raus, zu einem Luftschacht oder mit Fenster zur Strasse. Balkone gibt es nicht. Erst dachte ich, ich haette ein Schnaeppchen gemacht - fuer 350 Pesos ist es ganz ok. In der ersten Nacht konnte ich garnicht schlafen, die die Klimaanlagen der anderen Zimmer (meine hatte ich garnicht mehr angeschaltet) durch das nicht schliessbare Fenster droehnten. Also zog ich in ein anderes Zimmer. Die Klimaanlage dort liess sich nur von der Rezeption aus an und ausschalten. Dafuer war die Strasse laut - und wie gesagt - die Fenster sind immer geoeffnet. Unter dem Fenstersims schimmelte es und als es gewitterte, regnete es rein. Die Treppe zu den Zimmern ist wackelig und fuer Kinder sehr gefaehrlich. Die Baeder der Zimmer (ich habe mir mehrere zeigen lassen) sind halbwegs sauber, die Klobrillen sind abmontiert. Vorteile des Hotels sind die Lage im Stadtzentrum, es gibt Klimaanlagen und Fernsehen. Wenn man etwas nachfragt, wird auch der Service besser (neues Klopapier, frisches Wasser, Weckdienst). Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhaeltnis stimmt...
