We were a group of five that traveled to explore the ruins and water falls. The hotel has friendly informative employees. |Their restaurant has a good menu and reasonable prices. They list charges for what many would have free such as a glass or bag of ice but considering where you are it’s not unrealistic. |The buildings are up an incline with curving paved pathways. One would need to be in good health to access the rooms because of the heat in combination with the inclines. ||The rooms are more of a hostel type with Wi-Fi but no seating, telephones, or TV.s. They are an eco site so if you leave the room they turn off the ac when they clean it. It was only a problem when I returned from the ruins with heat prostration very near a heat stroke only to fine the ac off ( I survived ;).||Everyone enjoyed the pool and seeing monkeys in the tree tops eating their breakfast while hanging upside down was delightful. There are restaurants nearby if you have transportation. There is a rental car company in the train station with good prices per day. ||On the day we left an employee was waiting outside the room to take down the luggage that was super heavy without us asking for it. ||If you tour the ruins I’d recommend paying the 40 paseo fee for a ride to the site from the ticket booth and bathroom area. The walk is 4km up hill! Vendors sell water at site entrance that was ice cold.||By the way, according to the internet Halacha huinic means real man...

They have ongoing constructions on site and starts first at 4:30 AM with preparations. Then full gas including hammers, saws, all equipments at 6:00 AM 😳 As you can imagine, even you manage to fall asleep again at 4:30 am; there is no chance to sleep after 6:00 am. On top, you have the beautiful (! ) orchestra coming from construction full speed & highest volume next to you once you are wake 🙄 Good luck with relaxation
When I reported the issue at the front desk, they first blamed on the workers on site. When I asked for a solution, or compensation; they disappeared. When I insisted to talk the manager, they said that the manager is not available 😕
At the end, we couldn’t relax at all after 8 hours drive (we were coming from San Cristobal) and are super exhausted, lack of sleep before our 10 hours drive ahead. And guess what: we paid for all. There was no compensation at all

Read moreFor a 4 star hotel it is very, very basic. The bed rooms are not bad and the beds are comfy but the bathrooms feel like something you would get in a French campsite for €4. Very cheap, old and poor quality.
The staff are not friendly, nor do they speak English, even a little. The drinks are decent and the pool area is nice, clean, tidy and relaxing.
Compared to other hotels in Palenque this one is on the cusp of being unreasonably pricey for what you get.
There are also security cameras everywhere, like literally right outside the front door of your cabin, looking directly onto your area where you should 'relax'. This is just unacceptable and leaves you feeling under surveillance and not relaxed at all.
I wouldn't come back...
