I stayed with a friend that I was traveling with for one night in this hotel in the off-season and it was basically my worst experience in a hotel or hostal un my whole life, this being said that I have travelled in Australia, Thailand, Cambodia, Brazil, Morocco... we both speak good spanish.||We arrived by train from Creel at Bauhichivo. We had called the reception at hotel jade before but they apparently couldn’t tell us the prices. We asked the driver from the hotel who was waiting at the train station but he didn’t know for sure either and said we had to talk to the owner and he would take us to the hotel. Two Mexicans used the shuttle as well to get to Cerocahui.||Once we arrived the woman in charge offered us a room with two matrimonial for 800 pesos. We asked for a cheaper room due to our budget and offered reluctantly a room with only one matrimonial bed for 500 pesos or the room with two matrimonial beds for 700 pesos. From that point on she appeared pretty annoyed with us.|We checked the first room for 700 pesos and noticed that the sink leaked heavily so she showed us the one for 500 pesos and another one for 700 pesos. We actually decided to take the room for 500 pesos but she basically just decided grumpily that we had to take the more expensive one. So we did because there weren’t many other options in town.||During the day she asked us if we wanted to do some tours but we refused politely.|When we went to bed at night we literally found hundreds of dead insects in one of the beds (check the fotos!). We hadn’t seen them before because they had been covered by one of the blankets. The hotelstaff had already gone to bed and we preferred to show them in the morning. ||When we showed this to the owner the next morning, she basically told us that these insects were not venemous and that they just had died in the room flying around and had fallen on the bed. We tried to question that explanation but she started to grumble that we had the transportation included and we couldn’t ask for a discount in any way. Frustrated my friend payed the 1320 pesos that she asked for and we left the hotel. Immediately after we had left we noticed that it should have been 1020 pesos (700 for the room and 320 for food) and went back to ask her politely to correct the payment but she ignored the numbers, argued this time impudently that this was for the transport, entered the house and left us standing outside. ||I do not understand how you can treat people like this, especially your guests while running a hotel. I can only recommend staying in a different place in Cerocahui or go directly to Urique where we found very nice people and...

Read moreThrough all of my trip, this place had the most updated and pristine lodging and accommodations (the owners recently constructed the hotel). Each room has different colors and styles which I thought was pretty cool. The room we stayed in had 2 comfortable queen size beds, a sink, and a bathroom. The views from our second floor room were breathtaking! You could see the sun set behind the green mountains in the evening and the fog rolling over the nearby river in the morning. My only complaint with the room was that the bathroom did not have a door, but rather a small cloth curtain. It did the job of covering the bathroom opening, but I'm just used to more privacy. Also, the water would randomly be shut off during the day/night and our shower only had very hot water, even when I would only turn on the cold knob. When I brought this up to the owners though, they were extremely nice and attentive and they went to check the plumbing and actually managed to fix it to get my room water!||||The hotel had a small, reasonably priced restaurant next to it. The food was pretty good. My favorite thing I ate was the delicious birria! The owners Francia and Alberto were very attentive, pleasant, and welcoming. I think being Spanish speakers with familial roots in the area might have helped with that though.||||Alberto gave us a tour of the neighboring town of Urique. It was a 4-5 hour drive round trip on a dirt road up and down a mountain. He makes several stops to show and explain different features of the mountains and geography and he even took us to a local Tarahumara house on the top of the mountain. The views were absolutely AMAZING! Like nothing I had ever seen before. He walked us through the town of Urique for about 2 hours, introducing us to locals, showing us the river, and even picking mangos for us. He was very pleasant and talkative the whole way. I would...
