This was my second stay at Pueblo del Soul. Two years ago I passed through Casas Grande on a motorcycle tour through Mexico and the two nights spent at Pueblo del Soul was an absolute highlight. This year I traveled with my wife who was interested in visiting nearby Mata Ortiz to check out the incredible pottery scene there. She loved visiting all the different pottery studios, meeting the amazing artisans and purchasing many beautiful works of art. Oh yeah, she was totally in love with Pueblo del Soul and its wonderful hosts Jack and Leticia!
Pueblo del Soul is a gem. Its construction invokes the classic National Park lodges I visited as a child back in the 60’s. The interiors have this super inviting craftsman feel that’s just so relaxing. The rooms all have their own private little courtyard with nice views of the area. There is also a cool rock fireplace in each room for the cooler seasons.
Every morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast served up in the cafe on site. The food was cooked to order, fresh and tasty! A perfect start to our day.
Pueblo del Soul is also a stone cold great travel bargain. I would highly recommend that if you’re considering staying here to contact the owner directly for your booking. The rates are VERY reasonable and it’s just good karma to sidestep the booking sites and reserve your place in this desert paradise directly with Jack.
It’s just a great place to hang out, breathe deep and relax. Can’t...
Read moreWe stayed three nights at Pueblo del Soul in late November, 2019, by the end of a two weeks trip to Sonora and Chihuahua, that started and ended in Tucson, AZ. Pueblo del Soul is a handsome solid structure in adobe, rocks, wood and tiles, designed, built and managed by the charismatic Jack Anderson and his team, which includes Griselda and Valeria, fabulous chefs and facilitators of a fulfilling experience in northern Chihuahua. It is situated within sight of Paquimé archaeological site, in Casas Grandes, one of the "Magic Pueblos" of northern Mexico. The bed-and-breakfast hotel provides comfortable, friendly lodgings for those visiting that fascinating region, diverse in culture and landscape. Besides the ruins of Paquimé, travellers can take a day trip to Mata Ortiz to appreciate the high quality intricate design pottery, that has achieved world recognition for its artistic value. They can also visit a mormon community that specializes in agricultural products, go up to the mountains to see an amazing cliff dwelling named Cueva de la Olla, and indulge in good, fresh food in restaurants in Nuevo Casas Grandes, just a few miles from the bed-and-breakfast hotel. I strongly recommend Pueblo del Soul for travelers seeking a genuine experience in northern...
Read morePosada del Sol is a great find! This B&B Hotel simply has it all. Incredible design and construction bringing out the best of the desert lifestyle and providing comfort and luxury that far exceeds it’s price point. The breakfast served in the attached quaint cafe is so delicious and cooked to your order. Book directly with the hotel and breakfast is complimentary. A superb value!||The rooms are so cool, immaculately kept and beautiful, they are also large and spacious. I’m already planning a return visit in the winter to experience the massive fireplaces. The tile work in the bathrooms is first rate, it’s more like artwork than simple construction. ||The location on the edge of a Pueblo overlooking a UNESCO world heritage site is majestic and deeply soothing. I wish my hometown of Sedona could recapture some of the chill vibe that emanates from this special place hiding out in the Chihuahuan desert. |It’s a real hidden gem that awaits the...
