Torreon Marriott Hotel — Hotel in Coahuila

I know this review might not do much, but this is beyond the worst hotel I've ever stayed in for the price. As we arrived we stood in front of the counter waiting to be assisted, there were two receptionist, after 5 minutes of standing we had to explicitly ask if any of them could help us with our reservation. In the room the wood frame where the door latch is on, literally broke as I was trying to open the door, they could not fix it or switch my room, they just told me it would be fine as long as the door remained closed. The coffee pot did not work.The food was terrible, the salmon did not smell fresh. The corn soup did not taste like corn and it was cold. Not worth the price. The bath tub was oxidized from the metal parts and even looked green. No phone in the room to call room service, once I got a hold of them to ask for extra towels, they told me they ran out. A terrible terrible experience for $2,200 pesos (breakfast not included): oh and the cherry on top is that they had an event going on and you could hear the loud music in your room, the party went on until 3 am. Don't let the fancy facade fool you. Pick a cheaper hotel and even if you have the same experience at least it will be for less money. I wouldn't stay here if I didn't need the points for another trip. I got stuck in the elevator and had to pry the doors open to get out. My room phone did not work, no tissues in the room, I was not given the wifi password until I went back to the desk for it. The breakfast is very good, but the cleanliness has suffered. The place is very old and grime has accumulated in the corners. Be careful on the stairs, they are not all the same height. Edit: I decided to give this place another chance. My bad. The Ethernet cover did not fit, the water pressure was dismal and the water never got above lukewarm, the lamp switch was broken, requiring the bulb to be screwed out to turn it off, and the worst was that the bed sheets were too short, meaning your feet were on bedding that did not get changed between occupants. This is just disgusting! The elevator works now, but it stops high on some floors and low on others....

Platinum Marriot Member. Terrible experience HIDDEN FEES DO NOT STAY HERE. Made a reservation at Marriott's webpage for 1 adult - 2 kids (ages 12 &15) - Marriotts webpage explicitly requests for the kids ages and includes as child all ages from 2 to 17 y/o. When checking-in the Mr. Roberto (Reception manager) charged an additional fee for my 15 y/o daughter. Not completely understood this person reasoning as if the initial reservation was made for 3 adults instead of 1 adult 2 kids would have been the same price. So he was actually charging more for having a child. Because of this unexpected cost, I asked this person to cancel the reservation so I could look for another hotel, but he did not allowed as the reservation cancellation window had lapsed .
