We stayed a week at this luxury resort. We travel extensively and love the finer things in life. The Sunset Island Resort has it all! We couldn’t get over the beach as it seemed private. No one trying to sell us anything. The Villa was called The Pearl and it was amazing. We slept to the sound of the ocean waves. So relaxing! Fine bedding, full kitchen although we never cooked we went to the wonderful Anju Restaurant on the property. I swear a 5 star Michelin Chef is preparing the delicious and visually appealing food. It is that good. The management had thought of everything! We had local coffee on arrival, hand made local soaps a bottle of wine. It was heaven on the beach. The pool is an infinity pool and to just stand in it and look at the ocean was peaceful. There was also a dining island, don’t know what else to call it but you are perched over the ocean while dining! Such a thrilling and beautiful experience. This resort is high end and one of a kind. They had only 9 villas so it seemed very intimate. We can’t wait to return. I would love to rent the entire place sometimes with friends. Oh and they have a spa and gym on property. Like I said they thought...
Read moreAmazing on every level. We have been to this 5 star resort twice now and can't wait for the next visit. The ride from the airport was nice and didn't take too long (the resort can arrange pick up and drop off at Puerto Villarta airport) You cannot beat the location..very private and relaxing but still right on the water. We have stayed in Villa 2 and now Villa 4 and both are amazing (4 is bigger with a hot tub with an ocean view so if you have kids or want your own hot tub 4 is the way to go) The pool, gym and restaurant are top notch but the privacy, comfort and ocean view is what we loved plus the showers, OMG wait till you see the way the showers are set up. Very cool. The town is a short walk away and the locals are great. The staff is attentive and always went the extra mile for us. It's one of those "I can't believe we are here" locations. We went for Valentine's day and had an unforgettable time. Book early because there are only 8 or 10 villas and they fill up fast. This is one of those secrets you luck into finding every once in a awhile and I'm so...
Read moreWe visited some friends in Guadalajara, they recommended us this place, and we couldn’t believe there is such a nice Resort at La Peñita de Jaltemba, a little fishermen and touristic Village in Nayarit, but it is!. Sunset Island Resort is not a typical hotel, this is the kind of place you would expect to find in Punta de Mita, with all the amenities, service standards and stunning Villas. The hotel is boutique, we were told there are only 6 Villas, but man… one of a kind, we stayed at Villa Whale and it was simply stunning. The restaurant is also another nice feature, cuisine is not typical either, it is high level cuisine, and the view is stunning. The restaurant is suspended above the ocean, so it makes it a great experience. Staff is well trained and friendly, we will definitely come back and recommend it to any traveler looking for a peaceful - high...
