What a fantastic place! Not a lot of tourists-mostly Mexican families enjoying the waters. This place consists of three areas: The positos aka the little pools. All man made. Water from the river is pumped to the top and. As adds down the slope back to the river. 89 pools! Best places for photos are the pools with an island in the middle. Wear water shoes. The caves. You take the shuttle “Tonkibus”- 15 Mexican pesos- and they drive you to the foot of the waterfall. There are two cave areas. I’d say about 90% of visitors never went into the secret hidden cave. Why? It’s dark the current is pushing against you and you hold on to a rope and pull yourself forward. The second hidden cave has bats and you can see where the river originates. Shuttle again to river. We ordered the fried chicken breast which was quite good. Top Hints: don’t bring snacks or alcohol. They will confiscate it. Don’t bring credit cards- they only take Mexican pesos. Wear water shoes...

Its a beautiful natural water park and a amazing scenery. It is about 4 hours driving North of Mexico City. 3 main attractions there, i.e. 1) hot-spring pool terrace, 2) cyan blue water stream 3) grutas tunnel cave.

You need to spend more than a day to enjoy the place, and all the main attractions. Entrance fee is 150 pesos which is quite reasonable.

Tips: Get wet shoes, price about 160-200 pesos ok the roadside Go to the pool terrace first (1st stop), then proceed to the next attractions (2nd stop) But better don’t come weekend as it can be very crowded. Bring your own lunch, as the restaurant can be full house and you don’t want to spend much time waiting for your food Enjoy and...

The place it’s magical. However I wish I’d find more research before coming. If you don’t have a car you must travel to itxmiquilpan first to then catch the bus to the grutas. You can’t reserve the lodging in advance, it’s on first come first serve basis. They have rooms for all budgets, except the most affordable ones go out first. There’s also a camping by the river option.

The facilities are well maintained, there are shops an restaurants within the park.

The pozas were our favorite spot. The vies are amazing. The whole park, the natural formed weblike waterfall it’s breathtaking. It’s with no doubt a place everyone should check out, I would...
