We made a last minute reservation here for a long weekend stay here at the Lagos Inn and were extremely satisfied.
The front desk staff were always on point and courteous. The site has an agent on duty at all hours.
If you have a vehicle, it's important to know that the parking lot is secured and manned 24/7. It is very small, but they make it work for all guests who need it. We were coming in and out at random times of night due to events and were always promptly helped.
Another important aspect is how safe it is. The doors are always open but you can only access the elevator and operate it with your room key. It will not work without it, to ensure non-guests don't infiltrate the establishment.
We were assigned a room facing outward with a gorgeous view of the church and partial town center, which is lively until the later hours of the evening. We were traveling with my parents who arrived before us and got assigned a room with no view unfortunately, but the room still had the same accomodations as ours otherwise.
The bed. Was rock hard. My husband and I are bougie sleepers who use Tempurpedics and Sleep Numbers and initially joked about sleeping better on the floor. Yet somehow... Each and every night, we got amazing sleep and had no trouble falling asleep. We're baffled as to how, but it happened.
Sound travels amply through the doors and walls so, be mindful.
Breakfast hours are ample, from 8am to noon, and have options for complimentary buffet style or a la carte at an extra charge. The food was always delicious, the wait staff attentive, and the cafe de olla was incredible (coming from a non-coffee drinker). They only serve breakfast at the restaurant.
The location is perfect. Adjacent to the lively city center and short walking distance from the markets and shops. The city is alive well into the evening, with the bustle not dying down until around 10pm any given day. Restaurants are open late and on weekends street vendors are out late too.
Overall, we enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Lagos Inn and would go there again in a heartbeat. We felt welcomed, safe, and...

This hotel is in a typically non-tourist part of Mexico and as such you shouldn't come expecting The Savoy but it is far better than I was expecting.||||The lobby area is very smart and the restaurant/bar is also of good quality. The menu is varied and there is plenty to satisfy most people's tastes. I certainly had no complaints over the quality of the food at breakfast and on the one occasion I ate in the evening. I was very lucky to have my own local 'guide' so I often ate out in one of the many great (and extremely good value) restaurants near the town centre. The prices in the main restaurant are expensive for the area but still very cheap compared to the equivalent in the UK.||||The room I had faced the front of the hotel and looked toward the cathedral. The room was big, had good air conditioning and was plenty suitable for my needs. There were complimentary bottles of water that were replaced each day. The negative here is that it can be noisy, especially when the bells start ringing at 7am and 8am. For me it wasn't a big problem as I was often up at that sort of time but I can understand some people finding this a problem. I did not hear anything from any of the other rooms. The mattress was particularly hard but not uncomfortable enough to warrant me complaining about it at the time.||||The highlight of my stay was the service. The men and women on the front desk were amazing and helped me with everything from arranging a 'welcome to mexico' sign for me at the request of my girlfriend to assisting me with my Spanish. They were very polite and friendly at all times. This also was the case in the bar and restaurant.||||All in all I had a great experience in this hotel. The price for 6 nights was Β£280 (particularly impressive considering the much weakened pound in recent months) and for the money I can't see anyone getting any better in this area.||||Highly recommended.||||p.s. there is free wifi with a good speed and...
Β Β Β Read moreI was in town for business and the client had booked this hotel for me. The location is great, in the center of town, and the customer service staff was very friendly and accommodating at all times. For instance, I had absent mindedly left the cable to charge my phone at home when I packed for my trip - when I asked the lady at the front desk if there was a store nearby where I could buy one, she instead reached under the desk into a bag of cables left by previous guests and pulled a wall charger that fit my phone. She lent it to me to use until the end of my stay. Gestures like this, in addition to clean rooms, free bottled water, and an ok gym (for a hotel gym) on the 4th floor are what made my stay pleasant. I also found the wifi to signal to be strong and the connection fast.|| ||I rated this hotel 3 stars however due to noise levels. The garden in the courtyard, particularly the fountain, became the bane of my existence. Throughout the night it makes noise, but not the soothing kind you might expect from running water. More like somebody is peeing with the door open down the hall or someone left a faucet that you can't turn off slowly running in a bathroom sink somewhere. It was so annoying and extremely difficult to sleep to. The walls are also paper thin as you can easily hear conversations, tvs, other guests leaving their rooms, etc. Another thing to be aware of is that if you like a room that is totally dark when you sleep, these rooms are probably not the best for you. While the curtains provided are sufficient to offer privacy, the lighting in the courtyard/open hallways is bright (flourescent, I think) and on all night, shining into the room through the curtains and preventing it from being very dark. ||All in all it's a decent hotel, there are just some things to be aware. Again, the staff was great, which says a...
