Hotel las palomas de la riviera — Hotel in Jalisco

We watched the video for this hotel, read the previous reviews, and decided this would be a good place to stay for a Mexican family experience. That part was true, the family here is friendly enough and helpful. Marisol speaks some English. But the facility has seen better days. While the bed was comfortable enough (with an egg carton foam pad on top of the mattress), there is only one outlet in the room (two if you unplug the bed lamps which are spliced together with electrical tape), plus one in the bathroom. The shower was disappointing, with very inadequate water pressure and warm water. We were fortunate that there was no event like a wedding reception happening, as the hallway is tiled and sound echoes up and down. Other than the bathroom window and exhaust fan, there is no ventilation to the outside other than a sliding patio door, which we of course shut and locked at night. Comfortable hotel with nice beds. Good spot to stay for the price. Wifi was good. The staff are really friendly and helpful. However, I recommend you do not take room 9. There is a vent to the ceiling that spans the top of the wall separating room 9 from the front desk area. This means that you can hear when the staff are watching TV in the front area as if it were on in your room. In addition to this, there is a fan at the top of this vent that catches a breeze in the morning and begins to turn. It then squeaks constantly. This kicked off at 6am when I stayed there, so it might not be an issue if you're an early riser.

Place needs more cleanliness, so much clutter around, cockraches, bad electric wires and lighting , TV reception is super bad and wi-fi comes and goes all the time, at night rooms are super hot and fan at doesnt blow a nice breeze because they are to close to the ceiling, you cannot leave your patio door open because connect to two other rooms, you have to wake up staff to open the front to go out before 7:30 am, but super friendly people and inexpensive prices, nice garden and pool and good location, very close...
