If you are looking to get away from it all, Hotel Mayto is definitely for you. First, my room was amazing. I stayed in the newer building in room 16, and although it was on the ground floor it still had a view of the ocean as the building is on a hill. The room felt very fresh, crisp white linens and plush pillows. HUGE walk in shower with “rain” shower head. Separate room for the toilet. They provide soap, lotion, and shampoo. My favourite part of the room, which was such a pleasant surprise, was the mini fridge which was stocked with all manner of drinks and snacks. Cans of Modelo, Pacifica, Corona light, packages of Pringles, chocolate bars, a mini bottle of tequila, water, etc. There is a price list on top of the fridge, all items were reasonably priced. There are sliding glass doors and windows above to let a lot of light in, and a small patio out front with a table and two chairs. I only tried the shrimp burger at the restaurant, but it was very good. Drinks were tasty as well. They have a warm pool, many palapas at the pool and on the beach, and a couple Bali beds. There was a small shop behind the lobby, but I did not investigate it. I don’t speak Spanish well and most of the staff seemed to not speak much English, but I got by just fine. The only problem I could find seems to be a common one with other travellers- the strange “chit” based system of doling out internet pass codes. I don’t have a problem with the internet service being spotty as you are out in the middle of nowhere, but getting kicked off the internet and having to go get another code is slightly annoying. Other than that, amazing stay at...
Read moreIt is our second visit to Hotel Mayto, we returned because we loved the first time we went there. The remote location plus the services they have are very good; Pool, Wi-Fi, Lounge chairs, Parking, Restaurant and basic amenities inside the room although none of this compares to the exquisite view and virgin beach that they have.||||Unfortunately, on this visit we suffer the worst experience we have lived inside a hotel.||||On our first night, around 10:00 pm, we were ready to rest when the security officer came to knock on our door, notifying us that we had a call at the reception desk, which was strange for us since no one knew we were staying there. Entering the reception, the receptionist hands me the phone without first asking if I knew this person. The call was about extortion, which was a very unpleasant moment, the girl at the desk gave my complete info to a stranger on the phone. We could not rest that night even though they changed our room, made us have a very bad time and of course we had to return the next day for our own safety. I asked for a refund of the second night that I had already paid and they told me that they could not do it besides that I also asked for an invoice which I have not received yet.||||We expected a better deal after living something as unpleasant as extortion. This is something that no guest should live in a rented accommodation and for security they should never share guest...
Read moreThe first day was lovely great setting nice restaurant. Second night at 11:30 PM a group of young Mexicans on supercharged ATVs roared into the parking lot. They revved their engines had their headlights on and Played the loudest techno music I have ever heard. It is hard to describe the room shook and they were shouting back and forward to each other. The partying went on until 5:30 AM. No staff on hand no manager. Mexican guests told us the same happened in 2021. A word about the staff. In the restaurant they tried but were not trained our meals (three of us) all came out at separate time. The lobby staff were sometimes gone leaving the shop behind wide open. They sit down way below the counter so you cannot see them when you walk in. Absolutely not one word of English unusual for receptions staff but it is Mexico I understand. Wi fi worked for an hour and then you had to return to the lobby for another code. All these pale next to the gang with not one member of staff available to deal with them. There did not seem to be...
