First trip to this area of Mexico but not the last -- we've booked again for next year! When our cabs stopped at a fence with a gate and a small sign indicating we were at our destination, we looked around and laughed wondering, "Is this really it?" Then we were buzzed into the property and knew we found our paradise! Great location and well set up. Everyone was so welcoming and ready to make this the best vacation possible! All of our questions were answered, rooms were clean, comfortable, and unique. Our room had the kitchen area separated from the bedroom and bathroom. Great amount of space. Lovely patio with chairs and a view of the garden, pool, and ocean. It was spectacular! We chose no a/c so it was warm during the day with just the fans going. But coming from a cold climate, we enjoyed the warmth :) ||The recommendations we received were all fantastic - from lunch spots, to supper, to fishing, to how to get around (bicycles) - we were provided exceptional assistance. Continental breakfasts (included) were a little different each day, always so fresh, and a great way to start. For a small charge, cooked to order options were also available, and delicious. We missed not having paddles boards or kayaks on site, however, a rental shop is close. Shout out to Kyla, Josue, Rolando, and Paco for exceeding our expectations!!||With a limited number of rooms available, guests tend to visit and form a small, supportive community. Lots of new friends now! Can't wait to stay...
Read moreFinding La Paloma Oceanfront Retreat isn't all that easy. You will walk down an unpaved road and search for a small sign located beside a large wooden gate. Ring the bell, wait for the buzz, and open the gate to a small garden paradise. You'll first be impressed by the manicured gardens which lead to the resort office. Kyla, your manager, is friendly and efficient. There are only 16 rooms in the whole resort and each room is different. Some rooms overlook the pool and the ocean, others face the interior gardens. Some rooms are quite large, with full kitchen facilities, while others are smaller. Everything is clean and tidy. The pool is a great place too meet other guests. However, the best time and place to meet other guests is at breakfast. People gather around outdoor tables to enjoy a bowl of fresh fruit, toast, juice, pancakes or eggs. Finish the meal off with a cup of coffee and discuss the upcoming day. We love the atmosphere that Kyla and her staff have created. We have visited La Paloma twice and have already booked our return...
Read moreThis is our twelfth year at La Paloma. We prebook our suite every year for the following year to ensure we get in. The hotel is beautiful and authentically Mexican with western conveniences. All rooms are uniquely designed and in our experience very comfortable. Both Spanish and English are spoken by most staff. All staff are friendly, helpful and make us feel welcome. ||The hotel grounds are tropically lush and secure. The design makes socializing with other guests at the communal breakfast tables easy. A continental breakfast is provided in the room rate. More substantial breakfasts can be cooked to order. In the late afternoons guests gather to watch the sunset The hotel bar is open in the afternoons and early evenings||The adjoined towns of Melaque and San Patricio are small enough to walk quite easily. We prefer to bike to more distant places though so we rent bikes at the hotel. The bikes are well maintained, convenient and reasonably priced. Car parking is...
