I stayed at Hotel Royal Pedregal with my partner during an academic conference. Part of our stay was covered by the organizing university, and we would pay for the extra nights and breakfast. I sent multiple emails to the hotel asking for the rates of the additional nights, breakfast, and airport transfer. They never replied. When they finally responded, I was already traveling, and they only informed me of the transfer price — which was very expensive.|Since I hadn’t booked the service, I assumed we could take an Uber from the airport together. But to my surprise, when I arrived, there was a driver waiting for me with a sign. I explained I hadn’t made any reservation and was waiting for my partner, who was arriving separately. The driver told me there was another car reserved for him. Two transfers had been arranged — without our request or consent.|We wanted to share one ride, but the driver refused to wait for my partner. We were therefore forced to travel in separate vehicles.|At the hotel, we offered to pay for one transfer — even though we hadn’t booked it — but refused to pay for both. The hotel did not accept. They said they wouldn’t release our room (which was already partially paid by the university) until we paid for both cars. Worse still, they called security to surround us until we gave in and paid. It was one of the most humiliating and disrespectful situations I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. Throughout our stay, we were treated coldly and dismissively. No one apologized or offered any compensation. |Although the room was spacious, the decor felt outdated, and the space was not welcoming. There was no minibar, and the bathroom had no proper ventilation, which caused humidity to build up after showers. Details like these only add to the feeling that guest comfort is not a priority at this hotel.|The location is also a major drawback: there is nothing nearby, such as cafés, restaurants or shops within walking distance. Everything requires a car, and the hotel sits on a large, highly polluted and extremely busy avenue, making it hard even to cross the street — only pedestrian bridges are available. The surroundings are unpleasant for anyone who hopes to explore the city on foot or with any degree of independence.|Walking around is nearly impossible due to both the lack of nearby services and the way the area is laid out. Sidewalks are poorly designed, safe crossings are scarce, and you’ll need a car or a ride-share for almost everything.|We barely ate at the hotel, as the prices were extremely high and our first experience was very disappointing. We decided to dine at the hotel on our first night, but the guacamole tasted off, almost spoiled, which made us question the food quality. After that, we opted to take a car and eat at restaurants in other parts of the city.||I would never recommend this hotel. Terrible service, poor communication, unjust charges, and an appalling lack of respect for...
Read moreWe stayed at the Royal Pedregal in room 4118 for 7-day (Nov22-29, 2024). We stayed here because it was close to a relative's home. Our room had 2 queen beds and my wife and daughter slept on 1 bed and I slept in the bed closest to the entrance door. I experienced a total of 22 bed bugs bites all over my body. The bed bug bites were consistent over the days we stayed there. We asked to be moved to another room which they did (3117) however we probably brought over the bed bug because they continued to bite me. I spoke with the manager of hotel who only gave me a 1-day comp of room. I purchased cleaning solutions to wash all out clothing and to disinfect our new luggage when we returned to CA which cost $150. We took precaution and bombed our luggage and washed all our clothing, backpacks with hot water and special bed bug detergent. I asked that the general manager call me before I would write this review but after a week of waiting for their call I am posting to help others know to be careful staying at this hotel. The hotel refused to acknowledge this issue, they failed to provide me with adequate compensation for having to move from one room to another or for any monetary compensation for all the items I needed to purchase to make sure I did not bring back bed bugs to my home. The hotel is outdated, the carpet is dark and not clean, the rooms have outdated furniture, plugs which don't work and beds infested with bed bugs. I would never stay here again and would urge others not to stay as well. I give this hotel a 0 with terrible...
Read moreI have to say most of the staff is really good service wise, but overall our experience was not good. The first day there we asked for an iron (because there wasn't one in the closet) and the response was "have you checked your closet?" Every day, our soap which was new was taken and a new one set (very anti eco friendly), except for the last day when no soap was left. it took a call and a visit to the front desk, so 35 minutes later we could get a soap. One day, at 12:30 noon we asked if the bar was open, and they said no but we could get service in the terrace outside the restaurant. When we sat down, the waiter said it was closed and we would have to go inside. ||||As I said, no one was rude, but the details kill the experience. I still haven't gotten my invoice, even though I left my info art check-in. and check-out and have already contacted the hotel through the web and email.||||This is a nice property, a little dated, but overall comfortable if traveling to the south of the city. The gym is overall well equipped and maintained. The walls between the rooms don't really do a good isolation job and we could hear next doors tv at night.||||But as I said, the little details really do make a difference, in this...
