Best Western Plus Posada de Don Vasco — Hotel in Michoacán

We arrived fairly late after a long travel day, and only spent one night. Restaurant was already closed. Despite being part of a group staying only a short time, most of us were placed in rooms upstairs, and with no elevator, had to somehow get our suitcases up all the steps. Luckily a male guest took pity on me and came to my rescue. Room was a good size and comfortable but unfortunately, I had no hot water when I tried to shower. Thankfully the heat in the room worked very well and there were extra blankets to warm myself up.||Grounds were very pretty and I enjoyed walking around the next morning. I know there was supposed to be a pool, but signage isn't great and I had no luck finding it despite following the one sign with an arrow that said "Pool". Breakfast area was very busy, with a long line-up at the omelet station. I would have liked to enjoy sitting in the atrium area, however, it was booked for some big corporate group so we had to sit in the back area.||As I was dragging my suitcase down the stairs to checkout after breakfast, another kind soul came to grab my case and bring it down for me. Este es el peor hospedaje en el que me he quedado en mi vida. Como su nombre lo dice, no es un hotel, es una posada, pero sí te cobran como a precio de hotel, y orgullosamente disque tienen pancartas diciendo que son el mejor hotel de Pátzcuaro del 2021 según el Tripadvisor. JA. Pero bueno: llegamos, pedí mi llave del cuarto y me dicen que mi habitación está del otro lado de la calle. What?! Resulta que el hotel está dividido en dos partes, y de casualidad me tocó del otro lado de la calle, siendo que reservé en la misma página del hotel. Sinceramente, yo no leí, porque nunca he tenido que investigar si mi cuarto está cruzando una calle o no, pero estoy seguro de que no decía eso en la descripción. En fin, ahí vamos al otro lado de la calle (en el carro porque estábamos a 3°) y resulta que mi habitación está como a 5 metros de un cuarto de máquinas, otra vez, de pues casualidad. Ese cuarto no estaba haciendo ruido, pero quién sabe si en algún momento haría. Entramos al cuarto, que por cierto y como ya dije, no es un hotel, son como tipo "cabañas", y en cuanto entramos, nos damos cuenta de que huele horrible a guardado y a humedad. Intento marcar a la recepción, y el teléfono no funciona... Entonces, a pesar de que está cruzando la calle, nos vamos en el carro, y le digo a la mujer que el cuarto huele horrible, y que si no tiene otro cuarto. Nos dicen que hay un cuarto con 3 camas solamente, el cuál tomo. Vamos al cuarto, que está literalmente al lado del restaurante, lo cuál no creo que sea ideal porque alguien que llega cansado y se quiera dormir no podría, porque los shows que hacen terminan hasta las 11. En fin, entramos, y oh sorpresa, huele a guardado y a humedad, pero por lo menos no está cruzando la calle. Los cuartos como hielo por cierto, porque creo que tienen como doble o triple altura. Luego salimos a intentar estacionarnos... Nos dicen que ya no hay lugar y que nos tenemos que estacionar en frente. Ah, qué ironías de la vida. Entonces, nos vamos a la parte de en frente, y ahí estamos, cruzando la calle, que no tiene topes, boyas, ni algún policía, ni nada que detenga el tráfico a las 10 de la noche, a 3° y con equipaje. La tele del cuarto muy chiquita, y el control no funcionaba bien. De hecho se quedó prendida toda la noche porque mi esposa no la pudo apagar. El agua se calienta muy rápido. El cuarto tiene calefacción, pero no nos dimos cuenta hasta muy tarde. Como hielo el cuarto, ojalá nos hubieran dicho (aunque no preguntamos, pero creo que deberían decir). Por ejemplo, cuando llegas a un hotel en la playa, muchas veces los cuartos están ya aclimatados para que no te de calor. Uno esperaría lo mismo para el frío, pero bueno. No encontramos la alberca, creo que había un área con boliche y billar, aunque la verdad con el frío que hace, ni ganas de hacer nada. El restaurante está bonito, y la comida rica, pero muy tacaños con las porciones, y carísimo. El wi-fi ni siquiera llegaba al cuarto a pesar de que estaba literalmente a 30 segundos del lobby, y estoy seguro que al otro cuarto menos le iba a funcionar. Por cierto, el cuarto me costó $1500 la noche, $500 más que el Best Western de Morelia, que fuimos al día siguiente, y muchos hoteles de Guadalajara que me ha costado la habitación menos de eso (como el Presidente Intercontinental). Como dije, ha sido mi peor experiencia de hospedaje, sobre todo...

Disgusting and rude! There were BIG BLOOD STAINS on the bed covers eeew! And they didn't even apologize! Do yourself a favor and stay in a nicer and CLEANER hotel Boutique in the center. First they gave me the wrong room, when I told the receptionist that I reserved 2 beds, she was upset and sent us to the building crossing the freeway (fun!). Next night, after a long day, we arrived and our key didn't work, a different receptionist told us: "oh there is no water in that building, we had to switch your room, they surely told you" Grrrr, no apology whatsoever and we had to pack our stuff at 10 pm, crossed the freeway and change rooms. When we got to the new room, it smelled like sewage, we didn't mind we were exhausted so we took a shower and tried to go to bed just to discover BLOOD STAINS on the bed covers! The receptionist didn't apologize and offered us to change rooms AGAIN. The new room smelled nicer but it had a dead COCKROACH. The hotel is far from the center where most things are, it is not...
