Alejandro, Gustavo, Eduardo, Antonio, angeles, hilda, henry,Alfredo are amazing! Very attentive, remember what you are drinking and always have a smile. They work seamlessly even when the bar is busy keep everyone happy!đŸ€—đŸ„°đŸč So many improvements since our last time here in 2018. Let me start by saying we did not upgrade to Privilege or Elbeso ( The adult only section), and I did not feel that this hindered our stay in any way. We in fact had a ground floor junior suite room in building 19, which is behind the kids pool, it was lovely, quiet, and still felt close to everything as this resort is a great size and easy to navigate. Our room had a very comfy king bed with a ceiling fan, which is a huge plus for us! I will say forgot the wall between the bathroom and the rest of the room is frosted glass (very pretty design but did let some light in if people get up in the middle of the night). We had a mini fridge that they filled up daily, replacing what was used. ( Soda, local beer and 4 waters. They also had a large water for the coffee. ( The fridge will keep things cooler if you keep the door to the cabinet it is in open. ) We had a safe, plenty of storage space, end tables on both sides of the bed( which sounds silly to include but nowadays, as we age between our little fans, cpap machines and other needs. It's kind of nice to have those, not all resorts do. There was now even more shade available around the swim up bar pool, no more towel cards, room keys are now on your wrist band( no remembering a key needed). They have an app that gives all sorts of info, interactive map of resort, schedule of events, food theme for the buffet daily, booking the alecarte restaurants instead of waiting in line or having to call (They do book up early, offering three seating choices 6,7:30,and9, so I recommend getting on the app when reservations open up daily at 8am). The beach was beautiful ( there was seaweed this time of year , but they had a crew diligently cleaning it up early. The grounds are beautiful! If you keep an eye out ,there is some local wild life here and there. There is lots of choice for food, we enjoyed the Italian and French the best. The buffet always had lots of choice ( Victor was a great waiter there for breakfast and lunch, remembering us and what we liked!) and and the burger place next to the pool was really good as well. The coffee shop offers all sorts of choice and some desserts. The ice cream shop was also very popular and had great hours. We were excited to see some staff still there since our trip in 2018! Everyone was wonderful, very welcoming, and helpful . Fernanda was so much fun! She is part of the entertainment staff and was incredible, remembering us later walking around and getting people involved in fun activities, always with a smile and great personality! Alfredo, Alejandro, and Gustavo were the best at the pool bar! These guys remember what your drinking ( even when it got busy)and we're happy to make you something new to try. There are a lot of chairs around the pool, however if you wait until 9:30 or 10 they'll be less choice. ( We're early risers, so it was never an issue for us.) Again, the staff is amazing! We watched more than once someone going down and lugging up a chair from the beach to accommodate somebody who arrived late in the day. We caught a few of the shows. Some were out on the Plaza( pirate acrobat, and pool acrobat, we're really cool !) , some were in the theater ( the Mexico show had a great singer and a guy who was amazing with a lasso.) They had a silent dance party by the pool bar that was a hit with the younger people who stay up later than usđŸ€Ł. You can be as relaxed or as busy as you want here. It was just what we needed. I look forward to returning again!

It’s like arriving at a completely carefree world. Everything is taken care of for you and all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy. It’s a “plug and play” kind of resort. Easy to navigate and even easier to enjoy. Check in was smooth. We travel in our suits so if we have to wait for our rooms we can wait at the beach or at the pool with a drink in hand 😁 there was a short delay in getting our room. Initially it was to be ready at 3pm then got pushed to 4pm. We finally got the room sometime after 4pm. Thankfully we were already enjoying ourselves to drinks and pool time. The room: the place you will spend the least time in. Probably one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. We got room 4306 which was perfectly positioned close to the adults only El Beso side. Just enough party and quiet enough to relax yet party if you want too. The air conditioner did its best to cool the room but it never really cooled down enough. Anything left out of plastic packaging was soggy and smelled a little of mildew. But that’s just the wonderful and hydrating humidity. We’ve been to several resorts in Tulum, Playa and Akumal area and the A/C all had the same issues. Never really cold enough. Shower water pressure was very weak. We had a wonderful balcony to yoga on and a beautiful view. The food: other than poor planning and handling of reservations/first come first served. It was easy peasy. If you are NOT part of the elite Privilege group you will need to download the app and be up bright and early to make a reservation. Which is what we did. Easy process. If you happen to upgrade the butler will make the reservations for you (there are options where you do not need a reservation). The Blue Team: a group of energetic, fun filled workers that organize and handle most of the fun activities. Activities range from pickleball to archery. There is a bowling alley which was a ton of fun! The Silent Party was unique and very entertaining. Shout out to our pool activities Blue team members Fabian and Jonathan Michael! Also to Jesus for making some memory lasting fun filled moments everyday. Tequila tasting, sushi making class, cocktail making competition, pottery painting and aqua gym! Everyday had something fun in store for us. The resort has been recently renovated so everything looks new and clean which is always a plus. The beach had a lot of seaweed. Resort had dedicated staff to keep it somewhat under control. You can still get in the ocean. It’s not the crystal clear blue waters you’ll find elsewhere but it’s still therapeutic ocean water. I had a rough time with something I ate the 2nd day, so I was extremely happy there was always a restroom nearby. Overall a great adults only as well as family resort.

Had an amazing time at Ocean Coral. The staff were 10/10 amazing! Everyone from the front desk, cleaning/maintenance, servers, bar tenders were all very nice. Regret not bringing more USD for tips because they all work very hard! Rooms and resort are very clean and beautiful. Landscape crew also does a great job. The entertainment team was top notch - great job of providing day full of activity and fun. Evening entertainment had some great shows like water aerobics, Mexican show, and Michael Jackson tribute. Drinks are all good - especially the lobby bar run by Jonathan. Amazing cocktails and passion for bartending. His spicy margarita's are especially good. Resort has a lot of cool animals as well. Food is good - we preferred the buffet food overall from the speciality restaurants. I expected the speciality restaurants to be a bit better which is why I didn't give the 5 stars. The lady making pizza at buffet is amazing though, works very hard all day and pizza is top class. The different pools are great. It's nice that there's a calmer relaxing pool and then a more party like pool with a bar. The other reason I didn't give 5 stars is the beach. We love snorkeling and exploring the ocean and unfortunately it's not possible here. The cleaning crew tries their best and mother nature is what it is but there is a lot of seaweed. I understand the effort required and trying to keep some of the natural ecosystem, but a couple resorts down the beach had better cleaning systems and what appeared to be a net system out in the sea. Closer to Puerto Morales there is a large net that looks to be effective as the water is crystal clear. I think if this hotel and a couple around it invested in putting in a net system to improve beach cleanliness this resort would be a 5/5 for us. Couple non resort tips for those travelling to Mexico: -Be very aware of taxi vendors trying to swindle you. One guy claimed to be part of the airport staff and called our shuttle service company (which he didn't) and said it was cancelled and needed to pay another $100 for new driver. -Puerto Morales is very close to this resort and a must visit. It's only $5 uber ride (much cheaper than taxi). Book your tours like snorkling there, we paid $20 for a snorkling tour. Thanks to everyone at ocean coral for an amazing and memorable stay. I do hope the seaweed situation improves as with a cleaner beach this would have been my favorite resort in Mexico.

7 days of sun & sand did not disappoint. In general the hotel is lovely, layout to everything is easy once you have your bearings, rooms were fairly clean, as well as the hotel property in general.

Our room 1st rm was in the kids area of the hotel We requested to change room which ended up costing us a further $146 Cdn per person. Not a great start.

The there are 2 adult pools - 1 where the music is very loud & the Adults were day drunk from the free alcohol. The other adult pool we preferred was in the El Beso section of the hotel. You felt like you were in a small quaint boutique resort with more personalized service. The El Beso restaurant was also open at 7am so you could grab a fabulous latte or cappuccino (where as everywhere else on the resort all restaurants only open at 8am). The food was always on point with choices like avocado toast & poached eggs, yummy pancakes & french toast and other options, all made fresh for your instead of the hotel buffet. Dinner was equally delicious. We enjoyed salted pork tacos with pico de gallo and it was very good. The other restaurant that I would recommend was Blue Moon - their French bistro. Villa Maria restaurant and the International buffet were basic and boring. The wait staff at El Beso, Ivan, Freddy, Maria & Suriano were consistently excellent. Their service and smiles are always on point and the atmosphere is lovely 😊.

Beach service was basically non-existent. Had a few struggles getting more than 1 towel a day but we managed by splitting forces lol...

Alcohol was weird... you can see them opening new bottles etc yet nothing ever tasted like alcohol was present in the drinks. The juice mixes were weird and tasted like Aspartame was present. Martinis tasted good but felt like the taste was more from lemon juice rather than vodka if you get what I mean. The first 2 days I drank beer just because I know its actual BEER.

The lobby bar made the best pre-dinner cocktails, Lemon Drop being the tastiest (but again suspect on the actual presence of Vodka). Not sure how people at the main adult pool bar were getting drunk all day, I can only assume that they were supplementing their drinks with their own booze.

Last point, the room and maid service; Both rooms that we were in were nicely designed. Once we settled into our upgraded room a few things were noted. Yes the mini fridge was updated everyday (nice thank you, fresh bottles of water), towels changed out when you needed them, great. However, we were always missing something - 1 day it was the bath matt, the next day it was face clothes, the next day it was hand towels.. it was a bit strange. We never had a hair dryer (so maybe bring your own) , there was a dead fly on the sink counter that stayed there the whole visit (I left it there on purpose), as was someone else's silver foil from their shampoo bottle on the shower floor - not sure how these things get missed.

The BIGGEST ISSUE was when one morning we left for an hour to have breakfast and when we arrived back we found that a man (I assume a male-maid, although he didn't clean our room) had use our toilet and urinated all over the toilet seat and onto the floor (we know it was a man as we are 2 ladies staying in the room, no peeing onto a seat for us) as well as used one of our drinking glasses. It was upsetting to find that someone whom was not supposed to enter our room had done so - we verified that all of our 'stuff' was intact, which it was, but none the less we were 'peeved' by the situation. We did not tell the front desk however as we preferred to keep a low profile and enjoy the remainder of our vacation. We came to understand that they (the staff) pass word around quickly about 'you', therefore we preferred to just carrying on and enjoy the rest of our vacation. After that incident we had no further issue so I guess we did the right thing. I am a traveler that prefers Airbnbs or Vrbos however as a last minute vacation we chose the All-Inclusive route. I will NEVER do that again. Got a...

I wanted to write this review to confirm or dispel the negative reviews and also talk about the good.||Yes, there's racoons. They were super polite little beggars and so stinking cute. I saw none attempting to enter the restaurants and all the restaurants are enclosed anyway. I thought it was great but we're country folk and love wildlife, even the type that begs for snacks.||Yes, there's cats. They're like bodega cats and without them, rodents would be a big issue. They tend to just chill and nap here and there out of the way.||Yes, there's iguanas. They liked to hang out on the cool tile at the Bistro. Also super polite, just vibing.||Alligators: I saw no alligators and that was a disappointment. One review promised alligators on the grounds. I think they just don't know the difference between iguanas and gators. IDK.||Mosquitos: Yeah. It's the Caribbean. Take some OFF wipes with you. That said, I only saw one.||Sky high heat and humidity: Yeah. It's the Caribbean. We're from SE OK. It was actually a cooler temp and same humidity as home. So, no biggie for us.||Terrible Drinks: There was room for improvement but that's comparing them to our own at home. They were fine.||Terrible Food: That's the best buffet at an All Inclusive we've eaten at and we've been to many.||Problems with the reservation app: We had none. We only made it to one of those restaurants though and it was the steakhouse. It was great.||Beaches: Y'all. It's every year. There's a reason it's called June Grass in Texas. It's all over the coast, even in the US. It was excessive this year and overwhelmed their efforts to clean it up. So we took the Playa Ferry over to Cozumel, grabbed a taxi, and went to the Money Bar and hung out there all day, snorkeled, had a few drinks and food. Water was crystal clear b/c that side of Coz is protected. ||Pools: Very nice. I will say the Party Pool with the bar was cloudy, couldn't see the bottom of the pool and it's not due to a lack of maintenance, but due to a lot of people drinking in the pool all day long and never leaving and also all the sunscreen soaking off. I feel bad for whoever has to keep that pool clean.||Suites: Very clean. We even had an itty bitty balcony gecko hang out with us one evening.||Water Temp and Pressure: We had no hot water, the entire week, no matter what time of day we showered. Water pressure is dependent on 'rush hour' when everyone leaves the pool and showers up for dinner.||Staff: Wonderful.||Check In/Out Process: Speedy. We had no problems with it.||Someone complained they didn't offer a cold drink upon arrival. They have an ENTIRE STAND by the entrance to the lobby and a cold drink was offered immediately. Blue Lemonade and it was lovely.||Taxi fares too high: Yeah, I mean you're 40 minutes from Cancun or Playa. The rates are regulated. It was 120 bucks to Playa, round trip, and our driver met us back at the drop off point at a time when we knew we'd be coming back from Coz. He would accept no money in advance. We paid our fare upon arrival back at the resort.||Time Share Trap: Yeah. I mean, it's a resort. We enjoyed talking to the time share guy when we went to the check in counter to accept our 'free gift', but declined the 90 minute tour/deeper sales pitch. Free gift was 24 hours with full access to Privilege level food and drinks, a massage, and something else. We declined. Took about 15 minutes and had wonderful conversation. Super nice guy. No one tried to Time Share Shanghai us out and about the resort. We knew what that 'free gift' thing was about when went to the front desk.||Lobby Area: Stunning. Breezy.||Room Availability: We arrived just before noon. We were given the wrist tag, and use of the facilities until our room was ready. It was ready right at 3 as promised. ||Wrist Tag/Door Key: We did not find them fiddly. They were nice to have and never had a problem with them working the door lock. Not even...

A Heartfelt Thank You to the Team That Made Our CancĂșn Vacation Truly Unforgettable!

There are vacations you enjoy—and then there are those rare trips that stay with you long after your bags are unpacked. Our stay in CancĂșn was the latter. While the breathtaking views, crystal-clear water, and golden sunsets were undeniably stunning, it was the incredible people at the resort who truly made this experience unforgettable.

We’ve stayed at many beautiful places over the years, but never have we encountered a team so genuinely dedicated to making guests feel welcomed, cared for, and celebrated. The service here goes far beyond professionalism—it’s personal, heartfelt, and deeply authentic. From the first day to the last, the staff became a part of our vacation in the best possible way.

One person who stood out from the very beginning was Antonio, who we had the pleasure of seeing both at the Villa Marina and at the swim-up bar. Antonio is the kind of person who instantly makes you feel at ease. Whether he was serving us delicious meals with an attentive smile or handing us expertly crafted drinks at the pool bar, he brought a warmth and energy that turned every interaction into something memorable. He remembered our names, our favorite drinks, and always had a genuine interest in how we were enjoying our day. It’s people like Antonio—gracious, engaging, and effortlessly kind—who make a place feel like home.

Speaking of the pool, our afternoons wouldn’t have been the same without Eduardo and Alejandro at the pool bar. These two are absolute gems—always smiling, always quick with a joke, and masters at keeping the good vibes going. They brought such a fun and friendly energy to the pool area, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere that pulled everyone in. Whether it was mixing up the perfect margarita or just checking in with a laugh and a fist bump, they made sure we were happy, comfortable, and having the time of our lives.

And then there’s Gustavo, who gave us so many unforgettable memories. Whether it was a dinner experience, a conversation, or a simple shared laugh, Gustavo has a gift for making people feel seen and appreciated. There’s something truly special about his presence—calm, kind, and full of heart. And he connected with us in a way we won’t soon forget.

Across the entire resort, the level of service we received was nothing short of phenomenal. Every staff member—from housekeeping to concierge—carried themselves with pride and sincerity. There’s a shared spirit here that you can feel: one of hospitality, kindness, and a true love for creating meaningful experiences for guests.

What really touched us was how natural and unforced everything felt. The smiles weren’t scripted. The conversations weren’t transactional. These were real people, bringing their whole selves to work every day, and making sure we felt seen and appreciated. That’s rare. And that’s why this trip will stay with us for a long time.

We came to CancĂșn for rest, beauty, and great food—but we left with so much more. We left with memories of shared laughter at the swim-up bar, sunset dinners filled with flavor and laughter, and the warmth of people who made us feel more like friends than guests.

A special mention to Antonio, Eduardo, Alejandro, & Gustavo as well as the rest of the wonderful team, and everyone else who touched our stay—thank you. You were the heart of our vacation, and we can’t wait to return.

— With deep gratitude, A truly thankful...
