I spend a few days in Estrella Del Mar from 12/27/19 to 1/2/20 to celebrate New Years !!! Sadly it was very disappointed. This place used to be my favorite place in 2017 but now everything change They have a very young management team and the lack of Knowledge is something else !!! . Don’t take me wrong the place is beautiful . And that’s why my concern the hotel and the entire property have a 5 star rating ! But the customer service and specialty Food and Drinks management service it’s terrible not even a 3 star !!! Food is average and expensive ! The worst I ever taste for a “4.7star place “ Restaurant La Paloma supposed to be gourmet dinning or fine dining !! Don’t even bother please !!! The bar average ... very poor selection of bourbons , whisky or whiskey and wine !!! They just don’t have the minimum idea !! |On the other hand the next big disappointment was the “New years Gala Dinner “ OMG !!!! Shame on you !!! So many celebrities that night like Nacy Nash , Peter facinelli to mention some ! The buffet was average and nasty but the salad was good ! Which cost me a $150 dlrs ... I thought the hotel was going to represent a real And delicious food diversity’s from the pacific !!! And the best they did was spaghetti with Ragú sauce and dried fried mini shrimps ... ||Again such an amezing place !!! For a very poor management that is not in same level !!!|I do want to mention that I speak with the foods and drinks manager about the “Gala Dinner” about how was possible that people were wearing Bermuda shorts ,sandals , t shirts and even hats ... in a New Years Gala Dinner and his answer was even terrible! We changed at the last minute because the people who leave here call us and told us that they don’t feel like to dress for Dinner . Woooooo so we the tourist or customer who pay for a Gala Dinner don’t count ? And he say it is what it is !!!! |I will never come back to this place again !!! Shame on management it used to have a great service and delicious food...
Read moreMy wife and I came here for a friend’s wedding. And honestly could not be more appalled. They double booked the wedding with a huge conference that took over the entire hotel and was extremely disruptive during the ceremony and reception. They don’t tell you that everything is closed at their facility or closed by 8pm. Spa included(which would have been great for the wedding). The male staff constantly stare at the women guests making them uncomfortable. The wifi is patchy at best, the bedding is stained, food is served in the pool so bits of other peoples meals float past you, covid protocols are barely adhered too. They advertise that they have all of these activities but do not and the food is expensive and the quality is ok. When we attempted to cancel the rest of our reservation, getting a refund was extremely difficult. You ask to speak to someone in charge and are told it will be a few hours at least, then no one shows up. If you would like to be trapped with nothing to do, and overcharged for everything then this...
Read moreMy family has a condo in phase 2, and we absolutely love it here. The pool and jacuzzi are massive and well maintained, and the grounds are superb. The people are very friendly as it is primarily retirees who live here half or all year. There are some renters, and they are usually the ones making noise and leaving messes. The beach has the softest sand I've ever felt and is immaculately clean. Largest and quietest strip of beach I've ever been on. It is about 20 minutes away from Mazatlan proper, 25 away from old Mazatlan, but only 12 away from the airport. Its a bit off the beaten path, but if youre looking for something quiet instead of the noise of the Golden Zone or the Malacan, then this is it for you!We eat wonderful meals at the club house, and today enjoyed the poblano soup, skirt steak tacos, beef fajitas, chicken Chipotle fajitas, and the...
